what is zendar and where do you find it?

the word "zendar" frequently appears over the forums, and in modules, but i can't find any description on what it is and where it is. please help me

It was a neutral town back in old beta. It was like the "go to" place when you first start the game. I guess they decided to get rid of it, though it will always be remembered by the community. At least, those who played early versions of the game.

Also it is known to be neutral, that is why some people who have selected faction: neutral on their profile are sometimes called "the zendar peasants" or something similar when they get involved in a vaegir vs swadia discussion.

it was a nice place to cool your feet, with plenty of river pirates (todays looters) around to slaughter as a way to pass the time. It got removed, but i think it would actually help the game if there was a neutral town. Somehow towns like that always popped up in history, where french met german (despite what you know about the 100 year war, france had as many bitter border dispute with the germans. In WW II, the retaking of areas ceded to the french were of a big symbolic importance), christian met muslim etc

thanks for the answers , i have another question. one of my friends told me that zendar could be found on the outside of the map, somehow found with teleport cheats(ctrl+click). is this true , or is he just pulling my leg

Definitely pulling your leg. Think! How can a new player who perhaps doesn't know the cheats yet teleport to zendar if he doesn't even know why to go there.

Actually that is easy, you only have reactivate Zendar on the map as it is still there, only inactive. If I remember correct all the needed files are also still included.
Or use the Solid and Shade mod for a little different Zendar.

I think Calradia at War has Zendar in it.

I don't think so, they where just unnecessary for the game. Still, I'm not sure about it.

No there isn't. No such thing as an official multiplayer character with a background story. Maybe one of the custom battle characters has it as their background, but those were written by forum-members.

Dark Knights were really something to fear back in the day, I remember I always tried in vain to recruit a small contigent of peasants to stand against a dark knight party that chased after me. 'Twas fun.
