I'm currently experimenting with two new characters.
Julio d'Duchere an ex Bermian merchant turned mercenary. As you all know, Bermianese love crossbows. I couldn't find a Bermianese Crossbow yet so I just took a Siege crossbow.
He leads a band of crossbowmen, from besiegers to bermian marines. And boy are they effective. They can decimate a IS line from afar. And its just fun to still try to defy the Gun superiority syndrome this mod has instilled.
Ragnar Skullspliter a fierce warrior that leads Lowlander infantry only. He himself a master with shield and axe. Also, he uses balanced throwing axes. It's fun. Despite what others say that thrown weapons are weak and inaccurate, plus too short a range, then they've never faced an axethrower with a 5 power throw before. Javelins have piercing damage and can cut through armor and is a good deal accurate. Throwing axes are inaccurate, but they should be used in "melee", which means close, very close, maybe 10 to 20 feet away. There is also no draw time or reload time. Ha I even threw one point blank at an enemy's head, leading to an instant kill. Its satisfying to see and it'll thin out a horde of enemies that swarm you whenever you get isolated. I've gathered all the companions and armed them with throwing axes. The result, something similar to a nord axe volley.
So I'll go with Throwing Axes.
