This is, of course, assumingyou go the vassal route.

For me, it has to be my newest game. At First, consulting my map, Fletcher seemed to be a lovely place to start my uprising as a young Lord. Plenty of targets between me and the empire side of things. a nice river in my backyard reducing the number of attack avenues, And lots and lots and lots of empty land between me and Ravenstern. Oh, wait.. did i say empty? erm, those lands there arent exactly empty..

Thats right, I've got the Jatu as neighbors!

That's a good thing. Least they don't pillage your villages and defend your lands from other pests.

True, but it would be better if i was on friendly terms with them, and they didnt have 3 200+ armies roaming around

I still would be happy. They would scare away lords. And be too slow to chase down farmers.

And despite them being there, I've got about a 400 man Ravenstern army looting my poor little village. lol

That would be Tadsamesh or Rduna. While playing native, I liked to join swadia. I get 1 of these villages. They go to war, You get raided.

Pst, this is the PoP forum. We are discussing Prophesy of Pendor.

Usually the first fief I ever got upon joining a faction as vassal. The reason for this is, the player always gets the poorest village around within the realm of his mother faction.
So the first one´s usually the worst. Now, nasty people could abuse that by luring looting lords close to a desireable village next to a town but otherwise...
stay independent and carve your way up using the proper way, which is through masses of blood and g(l)ory.
