What is the next major content after Rebellions?

AFAIK castle scenes change with regards to the upgraade level, no? So a lvl castle will have wooden ramparts while a lvl 3 castle would have stone ramparts.
No, so far as I'm aware they are all static. All the leveling changes is their resistance to seige engines in the world map seige state.
For example there is one particular city layout that I hate to own becasue it's almost impossible to defend. It's walls are so short archers on the ground are as effective as those on the walls.

My mistake then. I distinctly remember seeing a video where this was the case..maybe wishful thinking on my part

But the scenes are upgraded when the main castle wall building is upgraded. They have higher and stronger walls and you use the bigger ladder siege towers when attacking them. There are three levels. Perhaps certain settlements have unique scenes that aren't finished or something. I notice Amprela has a different keep to everywhere else.

So the issue is I can think back to almost every siege I've ever done, and every single version of each map has always been the same. Walls have neve been upgraded. Some naturally have tall walls, some naturally have short ones, but they never change.
I'll go experiment with this, but unless it's unique to a couple places or something, I don't think what you're saying exists.

This WAS the plan years ago. But they then later basically said "This is way too hard, it's forcing us to make a whole lot more assets than we should...we're not doing it."

The issue is the maps aren't dynamically built but hand placed, and they already have to have peace-time versions, war versions, and then versions for every variation of wall destruction that you can wreak upon a castle. So even with the default scenes, each location already has a TON.

It definitely exists. Idk how you haven't noticed unless you tend to play very short campaigns, it takes quite a while to build walls and they aren't always the first things to be upgraded.

Well ****, I guess I've never noticed. I've upgraded plenty of cities and castles from 1 to 3 before...maybe I've never had to defend them at that point.

Yeah I've been playing this game for the better part of a year and have only been in one defensive siege battle.

truth. Onc you have a garrison o 300ish along with a militia of 300, there aren't really any armies that will be willing to take you on. Its for fortresses like that that they need to figure out a better calculation for if the attackers will attack or not.

Rebellions is a good major content after months.
Will there be any planned major content in upcoming patches? Thank you
hopefully some combat and ai changes and improvements. AI and siege improvements and maybe Keep battles.

What makes me worry is TW was hyping a big update with major content and we got rebellions. About the easiest and most nonconsequential version we could get. And they are pretty proud of it so it makes me worry about any more "major" content they may add.

Heavily bugged as well and came with a massive memory leak.

I don't trust anymore "big updates"

While rebellion feature is of course appreciated and was needed, the implementation of it does not bring new stuff. Instead, it utilizes already existing assets and mechanics like changing the ownership of a settlement from a clan to another clan, making it happen based on some internal calculations including loyality and security.

This is like promoting child education as a big thing. It is not. The mechanics were already in the game, available to main character.

What in my opinion a "fresh" or "major" content (will be realistic here considering the company resources, will not say add ships and sea battles) would be, even small but at least new, is features like adding various NPCs to settlements with rich, interactive dialogues, making random events on world map and scenes, creating more NPC parties like manhunters.

Just increase the liveness and depth of the world setting. Rebellions serve this purpose.

I of course like the rebellion feature but there are many other quick wins for this game that has been neglected for so long.

This ^^
Which sucks, I can't remember one defensive siege and I'm over 400 hours in. When I got hooked on MB it was because my little rag-tag group stole a castle which had it's garrison recently depleted then had to fight like hell to defend it. Standing in the wall reigning death and then emerging from the scrum covered in blood. I was hooked and we never relented an inch. Still haven't had that kind of moment yet in BL.

I've been trapped in besieged settlements a few times but the enemy has always abandoned the siege before attacking. It would be cool if you could play as your governors or companions you've left in a city when they're besieged.

I've seen this suggested and the more I hear it the more I am liking it. It would also give me a reason to maybe leave a fighting companion to govern a city or castle I know will be a target

I bought this game 10AM EST on release day... I've played it as recently as yesterday, and I have yet to experience a defensive siege battle.

Same. I thought I was close to a second one a few days ago, it was me & 2 of my companion's armies helping the garrison & militia at Pravend. The defenders numbered at a little over 600, the siege army was well over 1300+. A few minutes in they gave up at decided to sack a nearby town instead.
