What happens when you finish a lot of quests?

Does anyone know if it pays off to finish a hell lot of quests for one of the factions, other than getting a high rank, money and exp?

And, does anyone know if you can join for example the Vaegirs, attain a rank of Knight, pay the Swadians to forgive you, then return to the Vaegirs, rejoin the army and STILL be a Knight?

No you can't.

Shame to be honest. Becoming a knight in both factions would be cool. I can imagine it now...

I believe you can get rank in the Magnificent Seven mod.

Yeah in the Mag7 mod. you get special horses and weapons when you reach higher ranks with one or the other faction.
