What happens to the troops I garrison in a castle?

How I mean is, do I pay their wages?  I pay the half b/c they're garrisoned or not at all? 

Does unit command and unit type restrictions apply?  If I have 150 units on me and 150 in my castle, my current command is 150 correct?  Not 300?

Do I pay wages to those in my Vassals party?

You pay half for those in castle/cities.
You dont pay for the ones you gave to other lords.
You will have 150 soldiers and the "allies" will have 150 soldiers but you will command them in a siege defence.
