what happens if you keep ignorind the stupid marshall missions?

ive long given up on even bothering to try and find the marshall that im supposed to report to since it inevitably happens when im on the other side of the map and of course i have to stop and ask other nobles where he is since by the time i get across hes no longer where the message said.  im constantly destroying the enemy and taking over castles so i figured that kind of made up for it.

so far i havent noticed anything cept a couple gripes from companions.......doesn anything else happen eventually.

another reason they are stupid is cause he says i dont have to follow him around and literally a day after i leave him i get the message saying i failed the quest AFTER he just said i could do whatever i felt was right.  there is not warning about whether or not hes gonna ask you and sometimes it ends with quest complete.....and others quest failure.  as such i just dont bother with those annoying things anymore.

I have ignored my marshall for over 150 days, and I've experianced nothing but a little drop in affection from the marshall each time i fail. Stupid marshall keeps running around and doing nothing usefull. I just bunk up 300 soldier and attack a castle before my bonus morale drops.

Don't worry about the quest incomplete thing. Yes it says that you failed but it's a formality. Very few people are arsed to follow the Marshall around when he feels it necessary to take a 500 man army to raid a couple villages. You'll fail a few quests in your time, so don't worry about it.

Last time he asked for my help, I ran over to join him with my companions and some mounted men. That way I answered his calling. After, he asked me to scout some locations. I quickly ran to those locations and finished the quest. However, I didn't return to him to cash it in. Instead I went back to my cities and coninued to make money/recruit and train men. Eventually I got a message that the quest couldn't be turned in, but never had a drop of reputation or any of my companions complain.

I never got any more quests after that, atleast not during that campaign.

Make friends with the king. My relationship with king Harlaus is at 24, and he's always making me martial and offering me castles and whatnot, no cheats being used either. It's easy to get your standing up, everytime you defeat an enemy lord, or help a lord of your faction win a battle, go and talk to the king, and don't talk to any other lords before you do, and he'll say "I hear you defeated la-de-da, very good" and your standing goes up 1 or 2.

wat?

Just go to him when he asks, say "Yeah i'm here with my 40 men", then leave again. If your renown is high enough he won't ask you to keep close by (I've never had it low enough that he demanded i stayed close)

If you accidently stay nearby and he gives you a scouting mission, tell him no and that you are busy, you don't lose any rep over it.

Seriously? I had rep 60+ with King Harlaus and he wasn't giving me fiefs left and right. Now I have my own faction (Technically claimants, but he's just my way of getting out of oath) and I will crush King Ragnar into the dust...

Nah... if ya want him to like you... go to him tell him your brought his men.. do right click and follow his arse around if he requests to meet you... ignore that call... that request is not a quest until you talk to him... so you will not get any failure...

But yea ignoring marshal fully is fine.... many other Lords do it too.

In a normal game, rep does little.

You need a **** load of renown.
Then, friends within the vassals of the kingdom.
And the lower your amount of fiefs already, the higher chances getting new ones.
The rep with the king affects it a little bit.

Okay the basic is 30.... max Leadership is 50 and max Charisma is 63.... so let's add this together and it is 143 Soldiers... and now we need to add renown in it.

2500 renown is 100 and that is 243 Soldiers....
Oki not 300 yet it seems... let say he has modded a bit and allowed 15 Leadership points... that is extra 25... 268 well he is missing 32 soldiers... and that is  800 extra renown... that is 3200 renown, 15 leadership and 63 charisma gives you 300 Soldiers.

reallybigjohnson, you need to constantly ask your ally lords where your marshal is, so you know where to find him. In fact, any ally royalty knows where all the other ally royalties are at all times. So you need to ask a princess, wife, or lord where your marshal is whenever you have the chance to make sure you find the marshal in time.

I don't think he has the problem if finding him... I rather think he does not find to find him or allow him at all.

i usually have to ask a couple of time along the way if im coming from across the map cause hes moved a few times usually.  since no one else is having issues ignoring them then im gonna do the same cause im always taking over castles anyways.

i also have renounced my vassalage a few times in order to keep my map tidy.
