What happened to the option for disabling women warriors?

That's because there isn't an argument. I don't care that he wants no women to be in positions of power in a game. I think it's stupid to force his idea of what's right on the setting created by the developers. It's the same as *****ing about how the mono lisa should have teeth. Sure, your opinion, but you didn't paint the picture so you don't get to dictate what's on the canvas. Like I said though, feel free to preach all you want.
Are you really going to act totally ignorant of why the gender split in the game is the way it is??? Are you really saying that pressure from feminist activists to rewrite history and place women in places where they historically and logically wouldn't be hasn't influenced TW's decisions? Even though it's clear that many games have fallen to this dogma over the last 5 or so years? Why is the OP stupid for "forcing his idea of what's right onto the developers", "stupid", but you'll defend the changes brought about by journalists and others who don't even play games like this?

Besides that, no one is "forcing" anything here. The OP was asking about an option, if I recall.

Err, you know most of the women mentioned there aren't actually warriors? Even Joan of Arc was more a commander than a warrior, but the amazons and Boudicca would be good examples.

Yes, the two I noticed after a quick google. Not like I was going to pare down an entire list for this.

It's not an option, it's a view. They are exerting the same type of pressure you claim has changed the game without any actual proof that is the case.

It's a fantasy world, there can be as many women as taleworlds wants, just don't recruit them. Idk why you're all getting so sweaty over this. Just don't recruit the women and move on.

No I'm saying it's dumb to request a feature that changes their current artistic direction. It's one thing if you want like..I dunno autoblock. That's a mechanic. If you're mad about lore...I don't know what to tell you.
I wouldn't say mad. Disappointed they took this direction and asking about modding possibilities. But that got me 4 pages of accusations of misogyny and involuntary celibacy. I fully expected it because that's the way of the world these days, but I'm not one to be intimidated about speaking my mind and asking perfectly reasonable questions.

You're saying I'M getting sweaty? LOL I think you need to reread the thread and my OP. I haven't been the emotional one here.

I will actually answer the threads question by stating this very well may get a mod if a Modder happens to share your opinion and make one. It would have been nice if people simply stated their point of view without all the name-calling. Maybe some sort of understanding could have been reached. This... This is a mess.

so what do you think about my other comment then, just don't recruit them? Why keyboard warrior in a 5 page thread about some dumb nonsense. Just don't recruit the women problem solved.

Right? Plus if it matters that much they can mod it later. Hell, there is already a mod for all women armies. Instead people want to debate historic facts in a fantasy sandbox. Instead they take to the forums to open a thread that will draw flies to ****.

Women weren't warriors in this time period because it was and is physically impossible.

Women's slight deficit in upper body strength does not and never did make it "physically impossible" for them to be warriors. Physical limitations are simply not what that kind of thing are about. I could explain it, but it would take a while and I think you need the basic class first.

but those of us who don't should be able to disable the wokeness.

No. No, you shouldn't.

"muh historical realism" It's a fantasy game. That should be the end of the thread, wait for mods if you really care about historical realism in a fantasy game.

Because I'm stuck in my house in a lockdown bored out of my mind???

The problem is I can't find any male companions (wow, that didn't sound right).

You know it will and can be modded. It already has been before the tools were out. You knew it would start a flame war. Wow. Also here male companions.

If you go to the encyclopedia, go to hereos, then filter them by occupation "Wanderer" it should list all of them. I heard that it's a 50/50 split, I will admit I've run into a lot more female companions than male, maybe it's just the area I'm in.

I knew there would be a bunch of woke loons who would have meltdowns, yes. But I don't allow that lunacy to force my silence and more people should do the same. I don't think one should let deranged people intimidate you into not being truthful and expressing your thoughts.

Nah, being honest is a good trait. S'why I said what I said as well.

I don't really have a horse in this particular race.. but "slight decifit"? we're talking roughly 40% less upper body strength compared to a man, that is not slight ^^. Physical limitations plays a huge factor in why women tradtionally havent been warriors.. but so have social norms of course. You are welcome to your opinion, but to imply that the physical differences between men and women are near-insignificant when it comes to combat is just dishonest...

But yea.. obviously we can't have options to disable things based no political sentiment...I understand why OP feels female warriors are a bit strange, but then again... there are many things I might disagree with, and I simply don't think having opt outs for all these things is viable.. It's not that big of a deal.

Perhaps if you look at it from the point of view of it being grounded and believable. Yes it's a fictional world, but just like we'd expect the tech level to ressemble a certain time period, I think its a fair point of view to expect gender roles, outdated as they may be, to reflect the kind of setting we have in the game.

Imagine if, on top of the existing weapons, the player also had access to cellphones as a piece of equipment in this otherwise grounded medieval-themed world, that'd be fairly strange wouldn't it? And I don't think if you were to point that out that you'd find "it's a fantasy world!" to be a very good argument.
