What happen to the King and his vassals after their faction was eliminated?

The castle is visible. I think they take one of their old castles.... you can't attack it though.

I looked all over the places, there are no castle that you talked about. And the King's character profile page doesn't shows info anymore.

When I took out a faction their king hide in praven with swadians until I sat outside the city for a week waiting for him, once he popped out I butchered his entire army and he disappeared... I haven't seen him since and it's been 3 months.

I believe lords need to respawn in their own faction's property, so if they don't have any, they don't respawn.  Once all the lords of a faction have been defeated, it's "faction eliminated", and then they slowly reappear after seeking vassalage with another faction.

I remember that in M&B lords gradually join other factions, one after the other, until they are all set. Then the faction is declared defeated and it exist no more. As for kings, I have never checked.
I don't know if it is the same for Warband, for what you say it seems the same.

But anyway, I know I should post it in the suggestions forum, but do you think it's good the way it works now for lords? If you make your own country with companions only and gradually conquer more and more land, a huge amount of lords will share just a few fiefs. I'm not saying it's wrong, just curious if it is really the best thing. Couldn't they disappear? Like, their faction was defeated, they sell sword and horse and become honest farmers...
