What exactly is that axe that the Sarranid Guards use?

I picked up my old sultinate playthrough and started messing around.. As I was watching after I fell at the breach in the walls (battle continuation) I noticed a good number of my guards had a 2 handed axe that I have seen them with before... but never seen in the shops. It looks to be a 2 handed iron axe.

Is it just my imagination that this is not in the shops or are they actually something that is there that I just haven't seen/used because of my love of great axes and bardiches?

You are correct. The merchandise flag is not there for the axe that they use. It's called Sarranid Battle Axe. I'm not sure if it's possible to get at all in the game. You can always make it available in shops if you want to using Morgh's Item Editor.

Sarranid battle axe is only obtainable legitly by defeating army/armies with lots of Sarranid Guard, even then it is quite rare.

Just use cheat, it's much easier.

It's the same with the armor rhodock and swadian sharpshooters use
If you fight the sarranids long enough you'll eventually get their axe though. Sounds like a fun reason to fight sarranids though: the axe-crusade

note that you'll get more of the loot if you have less soldiers, soloing a sarranid guard with an axe would guarantee you'll get the axe, so it's not THAT random

I just want it for my elite guard (companions) since they are armored the same way as the other guards with minor differences (different helm/gauntlets) and just like the way that axe looks strapped to their back.
