What exactly is different and new in Warband

First let me say that this is not a mock question but genuine curiosity. The point of this post is not to complain about the game so I politely ask to keep such comments out.

Well to my question. After given up on MP I decided to start a serious SP game and so far I'm finding it all the same as MB (besides the obvious changes) I my missing something or is the juice stuff at some point in mid game.

Also does anyone else finds the random troops choice during battle to be annoying, or is it just me? I cant say I ever read a complain about it since the original. Since it still there I guess most are ok with it.

What random troop choice?

It takes whichever ones are at the top of your party list (at least it did in the original and if it's changed I haven't noticed...).

The biggest features of Warband SP are marriage and kingdom management.
So it mainly comes into play towards the end of the game.
The other big ones are the new faction, animations, graphics, combat mechanics (ripostes, kicks, parries).

Sequels usually provide new mechanics(if we're lucky), new story and new levels. We certainly got new mechanics. Since M&B don't have a story, it's pointless to ask for a new story. As for new levels, most of the battleground themselves were random to begin with so it seems like we didn't get new levels, but the map IS different, and town maps are also altered abit. Overall, I believe it looks like the same game because it was a random sandbox game to begin with.

Right, just like Spiderman 1 was exactly the same as Spiderman 2 (besides the obvious differences).

What? lol

Most of the changes you'll notice are late game stuff, other than the rather massive addition of a whole new faction. The new combat mechanics aren't all that useful in single-player either(other than kick, I guess) , so those probably aren't as obvious as they could be.

First off, graphics overhaul, new faction and new mechanics, new quests... if that still feels like the same game then you probably won't see a difference with Warcraft 2 and Warcraft 3, will you?

Salami

Macaroni

Pickeloni

Catelone

Pony

Tony

Sony

Bolony?

(edit - I think I spelled Bolony wrong, it's actually bologne I think?)

Being able to hold down F1 for movement and rename/move troops into different groups is almost worth the price in itself!
Ooh and kick, get your revenge on Kradus using only that

Hmm a non-obvious change...well...you can marry Ymira if you are a woman

Ya that sentence made me  :???:

Its a big change that the factions are actually making war. They regularly start campaigns and actually take castles/cities and the armys no longer get totally distracted by a caravan or 10 looters (with the sideeffect that great armies ignore each other as well, but thats a good tradeoff for me). Also it no longer feels like casual starting and stopping wars but rather like diplomatic behaviour.

Heh...I'm guessing from the tone of some of the answers I may have press a few nerves. Not my intention I assure you. I should have been a bit less vague. Still thanks to everyone that answer, it was mostly what I had expected which is a bit disappointing.

Well yea...they both suck. Are you implying WB sucks?
