What does it take to capture Praven?

I'm currently doing the rebellion for Lady Isolla of Suno. I managed to gather around 4 lords for a total troop strength of 456. Now, I tried sieging Praven , but it went straight to hell. I was using a Battle size limit of 100. My troops get slaughtered on the thin ladder from sharpshooters located on two towers. There doesn't seem to be any way to take the city, and I was losing troops on a 8:1 ratio.

Now, I've done sieges against castles before and I've succeeded with minimal losses. But this time, the sharpshooters are simply too much! Does anyone have some tips on taking Praven with battle size limit at 100?

If you want to rush them over the walls, then Huscarls are your best troops for the job. If you want to limit casualties, Rhodok crossbowmen are the ones you need.

Yeah, I've got Huscarls, Marksmen and Hired blades forming the bulk of my army (around 60). The trouble is, the troops belonging to my supporting Lords are the first ones up the ladder and get cut to pieces too quickly ;_;

You could jump behind the enemy troops at the top of the ladder and hinder their reinforcements or distract those at the top of the ladder. Or you could turn down the battle sizer.

Yeah, I did take the city by the turning down the battle sizer once. It was too easy. And there's no chance of jumping over them lol, too many sharpshooters (like 6 on each tower) .  I guess turning down the battlesizer is the way to go... sigh.

It's simple. You need more Johnsons on the battlefield. More bows would help, too... you want the bulk of your troops to be ranged, not melee, for sieges. Anyway, if you have high renown and a good rep with lords, assemble a warband (Will you follow me? I have a plan!) and have at it!

If not, find some captured rhodok towns that don't hate you and recruit as many sharpshooters as you can. 75 should be enough, assuming you have a high surgery skill and a lot of delicious food.

Do you even read my posts? I already stated I had several Lords following me. As for Bulk of the troops being ranged, that's just purely a matter of preference.
