What does 231 damage to a Unicorn in one hit?

So I was riding out to meet the Nords remaining 5 troops. I left my army behind since I didn't need them for this. I came through the woods and was about to fire when my horse fell out from under me.

Horse (Unicorn) hit for 231 points of damage it said. What the Heck?

They had some Valkerie and one Veteran Archer.

What happened here? My horse is crippled now btw.

They are worth 800 to knock out and ransom! I just found out. Time to send in the undead chaff with their fists!

Yes, I noticed that.

I guess it was the Valkerie that hit me. Should have used Chaos first but then  I can get out my jousting lance to knock them out.
