While i wouldn't mind there being some kind of stronger ecological regulation, i don't think we should be going towards gulags and stuff again... It would have the opposite effect. Think of communism. Many people see communism as a great evil, and why would that be? Staline and his party executed whoever stood in their way, and sent people to gulags for small things. I think that's one of the reasons nobody sees communism as a possibility anymore. Anyways, this thread isn't about communism.

But i think that if this sort of things start being done, people will develop a strong aversion against ecology and it won't be good.

Yeah, this one's a twat. Eco-gulag? Re-education camp? Sheesh. Over-the-top. Naw, I can't find myself in it.

Also; apparently there still is a communist european state. (not recognised anywhere though) This is them.

Ha, I only recently learned about them too. They were on the news because they were holding a military parade.

They're not very impressive though. A ****ty tiny little state with a tiny population and some soviet surplus ****.

Yes but still.. It's quite big (not in size). There's still a communist state in Europe :O. Imagine they took some power and media coverage. It could inspire some spirits.

It could inspire some numpties but I don't think they can pull off any conquering. Even the EU can handle that lot. :P

Did you mean something with "even"? No, cause some people are from Europe in this thread.

I agree with the basic point, but this "genius" and his "eco-facists" are just pure crap. We need to start to care about the Earth's future, but why do it in so brutal way?

He's a frustrated old man.

Why do you assume (Anyone for that matter, I've seen others do it, but it's you in this instance and just so happens it's this instance that pushed me over the edge) that when someone mentions a flaw of a place, that it's going to offend people from there, and that I even care if I offend someone? I mentioned kilts in another thread (Totally non-pejoratively, too, just mentioned them) and someone (not you) was like "YOU KNOW THERE'S SCOTTISH PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM". Okay, thanks, cause I was totally unaware of the diversity of this forum. But that's rather irrelevant.

So so what if he said "even". So what, European people are automatically going tot get pissed off? We're not all whiny teenagers like you, Nord, we aren't angered that easily. That, and most people are willing to recognise and admit faults that themselves, or say, their country have, or even if they aren't true, recgonise it as a common stereotype that nothing to get offended over. Especially since most people aren't even serious when they say things like that. And most people here (again, unlike you) have a sense of humor and can laugh at something like that.

Just sayin'.

EDIT: Not to mention the ****ing :P emoticon!

Yeah, uhm... You need to calm down. English isn't my main language. It's harder to use sarcasm when speaking in a language that's not your main language.

Then don't use it. And like I pointed out, I think the ':P' emoticon is pretty universal.

Obviously you didn't. One does not normally reply to a sarcastic comment with a serious response.

It didn't sound that serious in my head.

Yes, but let's take a look at your head. Lot's of interesting things seem to happen there. For instance, hearing a certain noise causes you to inflict harm on yourself. Definitely a sign of stability. There's also your misunderstanding time and inability to accurately organise events. Oh, and you can't tell men from women. Yes, just because in your head it appeared one way, that's totally how it will appear to us, the sensible OT regulars.

Let's decompose.

1. Hearing a certain noise causes me to inflict harm on myself.

Totally independent from my cortex, which is where "things sound in my head" (not the litteral one).http://www.misophonia-uk.org/personal-experiences-1.html

2. The time perception thread

If i had explained it in my main languages, you would have understood. I guess i can't do reflexions that go beyond "Yeah, good idea, archers are blablabla because blablabla" on this forum. It's quite weird that i can do similar reflexions on other forums, namely Debate.org's. Anyways, going any further would be reflecting and therefore would bring flaming and trolling.

3. Can't tell men from women

Because of a picture of two girls in link costumes that make them look flat chested you take it i can't make the difference between men and women. Okaay....

1. It's an insult, no need to get technical.

2. So learn English. And if you're afraid of flamming, and can't stand up and defend yourself, that's not my fault.

3. Yup.

Eep.

For the record, I AM European. Dutch to be precise. And that comment WAS sort of sarcastic. The EU strikes me as being a bureaucratic nightmare but even if the memberstates would be divided on taking action, they'd still be more than capable. That's what I meant.

The both of you need to calm the **** down, sheesh.
