What do you believe? I'm sort of curious. (Yes, I know this has been done before but I don't visit here much.)

This is what I believe:

Truth be told, nobody knows what is right, everyone only thinks they do. People align their beliefs with what makes them feel most comfortable or makes the most sense to them. I have my own personal beliefs on God, reincarnation and all that religious philosophical bull****. I've always been pretty much of the opinion that the meaning of life is you fall in love, raise some kids, try to live happy and die... thats it and searching for a deeper meaning seems extremely futile to me, not to mention a waste of time. God exists, but he doesn't care, we're an ant farm he watches us and occasionally dumps some water in the tunnels and drowns some of us. Prayer is useless, it's a way for people to delude themselves into thinking they have some control over something they have absolutely no control over and this is to make themselves feel better. Finally, I'm not sure if I believe in reincarnation but if it exists, clearly you forget everything about your previous life so it doesn't matter you wont' care if you're reincarnated because you won't know if you were reincarnated and you'll spend your whole next life wondering if you'll be reincarnated. Heaven and hell seem to be a governmental development to control people... the thought of me ceasing to exist doesn't bother me that much, know why? I won't exist, so I won't care.

However, I feel it is important to be a good person, to try to help others because... I feel it is right, I don't like making people feel bad nor do I enjoy causing pain. This is my proof against people who claim you need religion as a moral compass, you don't, you need parents who teach you morals and a good heart.

I believe that there is too little proof for god to believe in him, yet nobody has disproven him, so, until someone either totally proves or disproves his/her existance, I'm agnostic. I personally get pissed off by religious people who don't listen to reason, though, and I am pessimistic to the point of nihilism.

I believe in a creator which is not a god and never interferes the universe. it doesn't want to be worshipped, it has no religion etc. it has just created this universe.

We may cease to exist after death (most likely) and I am fine with it. But it is not the only possibility, we can never know what will happen after death unless we die.

Edit:

Same here. I follow no religion and I try to be a good person.

I'm very close to this as well, except I take the lack of proof of existance as an assumption of nonexistance.  Agnostic atheist, essentially.

Yes but one can discard the religions. Because there are enough evidents (holy books) for them to evaluate. This may lead one to ateism anyway whether agnostic or not.

What evidence is that? We still have proof of some thing in the bible or maybe not proof at least scientific based research (if you chose to believe in that) that tells us that the great flood has hapend. And some thing in live are difficult to expline with only logic.

I picked Agnostic its easy and don't demand someone to take a "this and no other" stand point its not yes i believe or no i don't believe in God. its more like its possible God exists but he have never done me any favors that i know of.

Evolution or Creation?

then you should point those proofs for the great flood as well as other claims of bible in that topic. But I gently warn you that Muslims have their own proofs and Jews may disagree with you.

And don't come up with pseudo-science ok?

Edit: And you have misunderstood me. I didn't say the evidents are against or into religions. I said that there are evidents to evaluate. if I put more exactly, there are claims of holy books that one can evaluate.

Difficult it may be, but is it impossible? Give an example.

What do you believe?

[/quote]

I believe in living my life to suit me. I believe in being happy, but not at the expense of causing others misery. I believe in being successful, without destroying the ecosystem to achieve it. I believe that children aren't punished strictly enough these days, and that juvenile delinquents need a thoroughly sound beating to discourage them. I believe that there are many things that science cannot yet explain, but that one day it may explain most of them. I believe that you should treat other people how you want to be treated in turn, and that "Child on Board" signs should be banned. I believe that there is intrinsical beauty in everything, except: club music, hardcore, dance, acid and house, which should be classed as an environmental hazard, not music. I believe that everybody should be treated equally, except criminals. I believe that I could do a much better job at running the world than governments, and that everybody should bow down to me as their Pharaoh.

I think that just about covers it.

That is just appealing as the "true" BM kiddos that thinks suicide is cool...

What differs MLO (Misantropic Luciferian Order) from CoS? hmm

I most probably should consider myself christian, but I wouldn't say I'm of any doctrine, I just believe things the way I understand them and the way I understand what's written. So no mainstream religion, though it's not drastically diferent from most protestant churches.

I'm agnostic. I really would like if God existed though - but as today I have no proof he exists.I would like an afterlife because I lost loved ones and I would like to meet them again - for me only don´t matter if I just cease to exist when I die.

Baptist christrian.

There is this one wierd kid in my class. He talks non-stop, and one day he finally got on the subject of religion. He said he "Believes what the indians do". He explained that when you die your soul goes to this big balloon thing and it pops thus releasing more souls onto the earth (Babies)...

And because your parents are religious, no doubt.

No, my dad's atheist and my mom is catholic-ish, and I really don't agree with a lot of catholic doctrines. When I used to go to a baptist church, at first they would be really opposed, though they eventually let it go.
