What do we currently know about companions in Bannerlord ?

Recruit
Will they be unique like in Warband or randomly generated ? Are there new mechanics revolving around them ? I heard that they could die in Bannerlord, that's cool, but I wish we'd know more. I don't remember any dev blog focusing on the companions system.

In the gameplay at gamescom we saw that they can be appointed as govenors and some of them can give bonuses, i think the bonus at gamescom was a recruitment boost.

They are randomly generated, they probably have personalities assigned. We don't know all the implications of this.

NPC lords can have their own companions

Companions can be assigned to roles in the party, for example, scout. I think this just means that for certain things you have to dedicate a companion to that thing to get a bonus from their skill.

Companions can be assigned to tasks like govern a city, or rule criminal activity in a city

I very much fear i will dislike the new companion system over the old one, i did like my immortal heroes that i got to gear out, but i also fear how the death/inheritance system will work, cause i dont really want my char to reset statwise.

I think there were talks about an option to disable that feature. So it's very likely you get to choose and possibly get something very similar to the unkillable super soldiers from the old series. But don't quote me on that, really mere speculation and possible faulty memory on my end.

We will see what we get, i also heard death in general should be able to be turned off, but how will it work og how many of these options will we get in EA, that is the question.

I think it can be both unique and randomly generated (if it is possible). I don't know why. But why not? xd It can be optionable. (?)

I briefly checked the beta files of the game after i got the key. Not a big deal, i know less than you guys know. But there are few voices in the sound files that may belong to five or six companions. "TheLeopardes" or "TheWillowbark" for example. They must be unique, because they have own stories they tell us, like Jeremus in Warband.
Jeremus has been killed by looter☠☠
LMFAO

I hope there will not be the dislike system like in Warband, it is a pain. And we can get around with lists to keep in mind. I really do not get the point.
I hope TW will find another way (like limiting the number of companions we can have ; even base on a stat/skill).

Death is optional only for the player, if my memory serves me right.

Ps: don't quote me on this as well ?

I actually quite like the likes/dislike system...apart from being fun by adding some emotions to their personalities, it also helps to balance; otherwise, everyone would just go for the most powerful companions, making the selection a boring no brainer.
I really really hope death/inheritance system will be toggleable. Even though it's a nice addition to the game, it won't be fit for purpose for those who wanna play a mod with the specific designed characters. It's not fun to play a LOTR mod with Gimli and Saruman's grandsons...
I'm also curious if the aging effects will be noticeable, like gray hair/balding/wrinkles on their portraits? And if the notables(guys who you can recruit from in the villages, etc) will die also?
In any case...remember TW, the wise choice in this case is to make it optional.
