What difficulty % do you play at?

Regular
84% here.  Battle size is at 100 and I make everything as hard as possible except for the parrying, but I do play with quitting without saving.  I use a shield so the automatic blocking doesn't really make a difference except when my shield gets smashed (which is rare) or I try to sneak into enemy towns and get stuck with just a quarterstaff and some throwing knives against fully armed guards.  The default settings honestly make combat so slow and boring that I almost put the game down after playing the tutorial.  I'm glad I figured out how to speed things up cuz this is my favorite game now.

I started with 100% originally. Then I went for 160% on one mod and I'm now at 120% which I find comfortable for my style of play which is usually on foot. I'll go for 160% again since there's not much of a difference anyway.

The settings on the top of my head for 160% are:

- No names of any units on the battlefield, neither yours or your opponents. You have to figure it out
- 230 units on the battlefield at once
- No automatic blocking. You have to time the direction of the attack which is coming from the AI and do the block manually
- Normal damage to friends
- Good AI
- No quitting without saving. Decisions, consequences...

If I remember something I'll post it. I haven't played with the speed of the battles so I just leave it to normal I figure either slow or fast are unrealistic (even though I haven't experimented it yet).

37% or so. Easiest everything but no quit without saving.

I can hear the torrent of abuse already, but if I wanted a challenge I'd do a Sodoku. I play M&B to unwind, and I don't want to be killed on the first badly judged ride-by. No, I want to slaughter hundreds of the enemy while my men stand on a nearby hill cheering, and only be k/od in rare, exceptional circumstances when that last Rhodok Sergeant avenges his 34 brothers. I'm a hero goddamnit. It's why I prefer 4th ed to GURPS, for all you other nerds out there.

It's also why I'll be avoiding multiplayer like the plague, I know I'm lazy and a crap fighter, I don't need to be reminded of it.

Maxed everything with manual blocking. I usually play with a poleaxe, a shield with some sort of projectiles for backup while on foot. It's not me mimicking Rambo or anything, it's usually me huddled up with the rest of my men trying to break up cavalry and the infantry. Or getting shot by pieces by horse archers, but that's why I bring along a shield.

Maxed everything with manual blocking. I'm looking forward to multiplayer so I can see how I measure up to other players from this forum.

Me too!  I'm still not giving up my shield, though :p

Maxed everything with manual blocking and combat set to faster. I've got battlesizer set to 200 so my percentage isn't good for comparison.

Max respect to everyone who plays on max difficulty (as already stated above, I'm a *****), but I'll be interested to see when mp comes out who's telling the truth and who's just flexing the old epeen.

But ofc, I won't be playing it myself. Unless there's a ***** mode, where we can just keep hacking at each other for hours doing 4 dam at a time.

88%(Maybe a little higher, but it's that w/ battlesize 100) w/ always save when quitting.
Lol, i can't manual block to save my life. And seeing as I wield 2-h wep. most of the time...yeahhh...dead.
1/4 damage to self(LOLPUSSYWHOGODMODSLOL)
reg. damage to allies
aannd...thats all i can remember.
oh, battlesize 150. My comp lags when it's anything over, sadly...

Usually when i start new game i play on 60% or so. Then when i get better armor and higher level i play on 80%.

184%

Max everything, 450 battlesize. (And I can still run GE, HDR, Polished Buildings Mod, M&B Panoramic and full graphics!)

122% with battlesize = 250. Lags a bit sometimes though. Normal damages. Normal speed (am a slow thinker )

83%. Max everything and battlesize 48, which is about as much as my computer can handle.

I need a better computer.

48 is really low, i suppose you already tried scaling down the graphics? Don't keep it at desktop size, scaling to 800x600 gives a more playable game. Are you on Directx9?

Yes, I'm on DX9, and it makes no difference. The game runs virtually the same whether I have it on DX9 and all settings maxed and DX7 and all settings cranked all the way down. The only thing that makes any difference is the resolution, so I keep it at 1024*768, which strikes a good balance between looks and being able to see what the bloody hell I'm aiming at. I'm running an Athlon 2800+ with 1.5 gigs of RAM and a 7600 GS. Yeah, it's not exactly a top of the line gaming rig, is it.
I'm suspecting it's the AI, since the game runs beautifully as long as I'm not looking at any troops. The more troops I have on screen, the more it lags. But it's not a graphics thing, since cranking details and shadows up and down has no effect whatsoever on FPS. And once all enemy guys are dead, my FPS skyrockets.
