What's interesting though, is I have no idea how it's going to work once my gran dies, since she (and my late grandfather) has been the glue holding the family together for decades.

Maybe getting together once a year to remember her will be the new glue. That stuff doesn't have to go away just because she does.

Glue has been slowly peeling away since granddad died, though. Hence why different family groups go at different times. Was a bit of a fall out a few years back. I was ill so I missed it. 

But hopefully that is not the case, and they can all get along.

It's viking Christmas! I'm celebrating by drinking this iced coffee drink thing that has espresso, baileys and probably vodka in it.

My brother got me somesort of an Android device called JXD, looks like it has emulator capabilities up the ass, so that's cool. I also got John Keegan's "A History of Warfare" which is also quite cool. But most importantly, I got wool socks. Now I have enough wool socks that I will never run out.

Oh right, almost forgot I sorta got myself something for Christmas. A cheapo second-hand acoustic guitar and an online guitar course.
It's mostly to see if I even like playing the guitar and if I have any aptitude for it. If so, I'll get a proper teacher.

But most importantly, I got wool socks. Now I have enough wool socks that I will never run out.

Ditto. Apart from the socks, I absolutely hate receiving Christmas gifts. It always makes me feel like **** when people pour money, effort and time into something I couldn't give a crap about.

The catapult is very cool. Marvellous fun to launch small bits of bacon at household pets  . Took me about 45 minutes to put together. The instructions were rather humorous as well. They mentioned that you should make sure to have a healthy snack on hand whilst constructing and even specified when to eat and when not to eat 

I have that though one of the pieces of wood that provide the springyness was already splinted slightly lengthways

I want a sports bra that fits decently, a nice bike lock, new ballett slippers and a pair of pretty motorbiking gloves.

plus one of those random nonfiction books that my mom likes to push onto us, a baking mix for tomato olive bread, an eyeliner brush from my sister and a bunch of overly perfumed Lush bath bombs from my brother who doesn't seem to know I don't have a bathtub and don't care for Lush stuff. and creepy silence from my other brother.
also some nice christmassy talk about how depressed my dad gets from his diabetes and how my mom jumps into every conversation and bleats out all her thoughts and how that's not cool and then some shouting about why we always have to attack her instead of accepting her and how every time is ****ing depressing because nobody manages normal conversations but instead is abrasive as ****, each in their individual ways.

I got money, and I don't think I'm getting much else, and I don't care, because I just wanted to snag some games on the Steam sale and made that known. Will update if any sweaters are particularly swaggy under the tree or something.
