what defines the heraldic surcoat's color on the back?

(didnt know where to post this, so i decided to post it here)

what file defines the heraldic surcoat's back color? I'm asking because i had a black flag and the back of my surcoat was black. then, i edited my flag to be white, but the back of my surcoat was still black.
