What are you playing right now - Board Games Edition

So I am going to do my first campaign (only have done single scenarios) in Warfighter. I may AAR it. So which country should I use? There are US, UK, and Russia. They have their own equipment and all that.

Then which location/adversaries? There is jungle (Drug Cartels), Middle East (insurgents or Military), or Eastern Europe (some Eastern European army)?

BG is a fun game. Though for us, the humans win most of them. (Except when I'm the cylon.)
It's very possible the folks I'm playing with are on the 'bad' side of things, making it easier to sabotage.

The wife and I's die-hard is Settlers of Catan, however.

I love you both for that. Base only or with expansions?
Mainly just the base. We have a few of the 'micro' expansion -- fisheries and the great river -- but haven't played much with the seafaring or knights/cities expansion.

Most of the time, in fact, we've been playing a two-player ruleset we found online.

Eh, I have bought both the Seafarers and the Cities and Knights, but my friends and me(of course) don't like the latter that much. Never played a 2 player game, though.

It also depends on how good folks are at reading the other players as well I think. I think the only time when I've played it that the Cylons won is when I blindsided everyone else with my declaration. Apparently my poker face was just that good on that particular day. Plus one of the non-Cylons was doing some very weird/suspicious things, so that helped things along as well

So I chose to use Russians. I tested both the UK and the Russians (US was in the core set, so I've used them a lot). Since I got royally owned as the Russans in my test game, I'm going to use them.

I'll take some pictures along the way.

Notes on Russians in game: they have the worst "cover save" and movement out of all of the factions (from what I've experienced so far), but they have the highest health. Health determines hand size. They also have the largest loadouts.

The weapons, are not the greatest either, but they never jam. The AK 47s and 74s are slightly better than the LA85A2 at range, but worse than the M-16s. They are roughly the same at close range, as the M-16s, but much much worse than the LA85A2.

Should be interesting. I chose Eastern Europe as the location, so I'll be facing a full legit military.

I actually haven't played Diplomacy before, I should read the rules and then, yeah, I'd be interested.

I am looking for a game system for planetary space drama. Probably interplanetary too.

Erm to put it simply it's like rules to simulate interplanetary 4X on pen and paper, probably with characters and politics.

I remember seeing such a system being sold online long ago but I've forgotten the name.

Twilight Imperium, maybe? If that's not it, you can take a look, it's a very good game, having the features you want. Also, there's a game literally called Space Empires: 4X.
Also, you may mean Race for the Galaxy, Galaxy's Edge(haven't played that one) and Space Imperator(or Emperor, can't remember). All are '4x' type board games, you play as a civilization, gather resources, some have worker placement etc.

I'm looking for a ruleset actually, it was just a set of rules being sold online, I think it's for simulation and probably roleplay IIRC. Kind of like Heavy Gear. I thought pen-and-paper roleplay comes under tabletop which is related to boardgames.

I asked the same question on Reddit RPG and someone recommended Stars Without Number. I downloaded that and Heavy Gear Blitz: Locked and Loaded from DriveThruRPG for free.
