What are the best mod packs?

Hi guys. I really want t get back into the single player since I played it a ton when I first got the game and since I kinda got bored of the same old vanilla experience I was wondering what were the best mod packs around? I don't want one that will change the entire setting but one that will add a bunch of new and exciting features. Kind of like an enhanced vanilla experience. Thanks

Wanted to start the same thread. I can't seem to find anything except Diplomacy(which sadly hasn't been updated since 2012), that doesn't completely attempt to recreate the game, but a lot of it's features are buggy which it might have always been or it might be due to compatibility issues with the new updates. I tried PoP and looked at Floris and others, but they all add a ton of stuff, a lot of which I don't like. Quite a few add things like gunpowder weapons and completely new troop trees etc which doesn't feel well balanced. They also opt to go quantity over quality contentwise. Floris seems like the best bet so far, but check out the top 100 mods on nexus to get a good idea.

Uh, Phantasy Calradia is cool. It's a partial conversion mod. There's also Empire 3. That one still in Beta though. So it's very buggy.

Tocan's caldaria is okay, really messed up the Rhodok troops though.

I like Tocan's Calradia.  Tocan did beef up the top-tier crossbowmen but I also think he made some changes to other factions so that there is decent balance.  He did not appear to dramatically overhaul the troop trees or items.

I like all the different mods and OSPs he used in making his mod, including some of his own code.

He doesn't make any drastic changes to the textures of the game, so it will run smoothly even on lower-end machines.

I've tried tons of mods over the years for this game.

Diplomacy is the only one I stuck with. (Floris was nice too).

The last available Diplomacy (1.165) is very stable. Really a great addition.
You can even turn off his main changes to just enjoy some feature like:
battle continuation
wife as companion
fief exchange
within a Native experience.

Hm...  Diplomacy is great but some things are lacking.  Like the way I can just exchange my city for Dhirim, it somehow felt too easy.  Also I wasn't able to ship prisoners around.  Seems to be lacking.

It would be nice if you could just pay a ransom to get some nobles out.  Did dip get round to fixing that?

Freelancer 1.5 is a pretty good mod pack.  It includes Diplomacy 4.2 and PBOD .92 and works fine with WB 1.158.  The only glitch I have ever experienced occurs when you are enlisted and try to talk to your lord while in a city the game will crash.  Other than that, I consider Freelancer with Diplo and PBOD to be essential mods and for me, a good basis for making my own mods.

Tocan's Calradia includes Freelancer and Diplo 4.3 and PBOD .92 among other things.  I especially dig the salt mines (no pun intended) because you can make a lot of cash putting your prisoners to work there.

I agree on the prisoners but I found trading fiefs to not be all that cheaty since lords generally wont change a castle for a town or even town for town if theirs is better off than yours.

I've been playing for a long time and just got diplomacy.  Does anyone know if making suggestions to the king actually works or is there chance success or something?  Is there a broker peace option?  Sometimes when all the factions are going at it in native the faction kings get themselves into deep ka ka.

In my Rhodok campaign in Diplomacy I was able to convince Graveth to declare war on the Nords even though they were allied with the Rhodoks, I had only 2 Persuasion at the time but 35 opinion with him. I haven't checked whether there's an option to ask him to make peace yet though and I'm new to the mod.

Started the game in native, was a Vaegir vassal, Nords just got kicked out of the realm when the Sarranids declare war.  The Rhodocks join in next.  What does Yarolek do next?  Declares war on the Swads.  Unreal.  It's more unreal if you consider the map.  I'll give it a go and see what happens.

Yes, even when the answer is negative he may follow your suggestion sometimes.
It is also the same for lords, marshall suggestion.
