What are the best M&B settings on a really crappy computer

All right, I am 'running' (sort of) M&B on a old laptop computer without a proper 3d card or anything. I know it wasn't meant to run the game at all but still I am doing it.....
My quesition :What are the best settings for my really crappy computer.

I have about 1mhz and 712 mb ram.

In M&B configure, I would put texture detail all the way down and put max frame rate 50 or 60.  The other stuff doesn't matter as much.  See if you can even start M&B like that.

Well, I can start and play it but I want it to un smoothly

Turn off 3D grass! Also, don't turn off Permanent Corpses, as there is a known bug with that being off.

Also put the Battle Size slider down to minimum.

If you can bear it, cut the sound off too. Sound eats up a good deal of your resources. I'm running a P4, with onboard graphics, and have framerate at 60. I'd go to an even lower max-rate with an older machine.

this is a very good way to incrise performance but i don't think it's recommended on a laptop...right click on the shortcut, properties, compatibility, run in 640 x 480...now your comp Will be a little faster when playing mount and blade...(i have this option on all the time)
