What Are People Talking About These Days?

"Well, nothing new lately. Prices, weather, the war, the same old things." - Ganzo of Uxkhal.

What Mount&Blade-like games are you playing? Or are looking forward to?

Who's got news? Any other tactical or role-playing games you're currently enjoying?

Speak up! You there, in the corner, with the funky hair and blue tatoos, the barbarian from the wastelands...

Before I caught wind of M&B, most of my game time was being spent with Unreal Tournament 2004, using Mysterial's RPG mutator, in conjunction with map mixer and bot mixer mutators. Sort of trying to recreate the single player tournament experience, but with a skill improvement system. Lots of fun there.

Besides M&B I enjoy roguelike games like nethack, gearhead, IVAN and others. Also have been a huge fan of sid meier's pirates since it was originally released back in the 80's and have been playing the remake on my computer. In it's current form Mount & Blade reminds me a lot of what I like in pirates, the open end gameplay, trading and combat.

Me too. How has the remake been, I'm waiting for another price drop or so.

Before M&B, I was playing Alpha Centauri, ADOM, Alpha Centauri,Katamari, Alpha Centauri, GTA, Alpha Centauri, THPS3, and a little Alpha Centauri.

Well, aside from M&B all i really play lately is halflife...which actually includes about half a dozen games because of all the mods. That, and master of orion 2 (a real must play if you like civilization type games).

Rome: Total War. Its a great game, I've had battles with over 25 THOUSAND men. And its all 3d. (With that many men, its also a lagfest.)

But I haven't played a single game like M&B... Because there aren't any games like it. But I have been playing NWN (Neverwinter Nights), which is the closest I can get.

Yes Rome is an incredible game indeed. I play with the SPQR mod or Realism mod myself. I use to play Neverwinter Nights as well. The toolset is a blast to play with. Im really looking forward to NWN2

The Pirates remake is great, been having a lot of fun with it. If your a fan of the original I think you will enjoy the game.

The last few games I've gotten were RTW(way back when it was released back in September), HL2, CS, Civilization 3, Gran Turismo 4, RE4, and WC3. I was thinking of getting either Sid Meier's Pirates, Psychonauts, Guild Wars or World of Warcraft, or Vampire-the masquerade: bloodlines soon. Any suggestions on what to get first?

f you want a good Roleplaying Expierience, get Vampires.
If you want to run around, just kill monsters everywhere and do rather braindead quests, and don't even want to try to RP, get WoW. (if you want to RP, just get a free copy of UO and search a good RP-freeshard)
If you want to play something openended, get Pirates.
Never heard of Psychonauts, and I haven't tried Guild Wars, so I can'ts ay anything about that...

Hm, what have I played before M&B... a litle bit Vampires, than I played Act of War (though it is far to short - they should take a lesson from Armagan and make their games a littlke bit more interesting on the long run... oh well. And the *so* good story... *jawn* Guessed nearly every twist long before it happened. )And then this and that, R:TW here, a little bit ToEE there...
And of course I'm always checking The Underdogs for new old games that I never played, but who are much better than most of what theese days passes for a "good game"

I was playing Fight Night Round 2 for the Playstation, but now I've been fooling around with this game. And then I started studying something, the Muraena Kidako.

Playing a bunch of M&B. Also playing a WWII ship combat game called Navy field. Trying to get enough spare time to start up my Deadlands campaign again.

I like the Lovecraft stuff too, I'm not gonna hold my breath though, I just saw a preview of the MMRPG called Conan Hyborian adventures and it has armies of goblins and trained mastadons. That ain't gonna get me back into the MMRPG treadmill.
