What are dogs good for? 🐕

I played around a bit with the cheat mode and I saw that additionally to pigs, sheeps and cows, there were dogs.
Where can I legitimately buy\get them and what are they good for?

Dogs can boost morale from companionship, be used for scouting or alerting people, help with hunting, in Eastern cultures people do eat dogs.

I think generally Eastern cultures like cats more than dogs but Western culture prefers dogs more. Got the bubonic plague probably because killed off too many black cats tbh. Probably they orginally had the idea but scrapped it if it was going to be used as food source it would be too offensive to people

Maybe dogs as pets? someone with the wolf perk can control wolves and sometimes in a fight a pack of wolves (when you're about to lose) will jump out of the woods and help you win. Be a falconer who his eagle helps in scouting. I think that such a wolf as a pet would only guard the main character, skillfully distracting the opponent and biting him. Maybe Asserai or some new faction that has elephants? :p

Some historical armys had dog soldiers, but this is likely before the period of this game.

Morale boost and alerting people, aswell as protecting cattle from predators and hunting meat seems like the most obvious advantage.
Scouting doesn't really work without installing cameras or microphones on the dog which doesn't work for obvious reasons.

Reimpliment dogs into the game!!!
