What about D'Shar?

I see tons of posts, Ravenstern this, Empire that.  What about the other factions? Specifically D'Shar I have seen mention of the others a few times.

Since I started, plan to restart, in D'Shar is there something glaringly wrong with them that I am missing?

Nope, nothing wrong with them, in fact D'Shar Assassins are probably one of the best Melee Troops in the game.. Naturally, just lots of people are not a fan of a Dessert Tribes which is basically what the D'Shar are, so their not really talked about as much as the other factions.

they almost entirely lack heavy cavalry and good archers. the only good thing is their infantry, including the annoying scorpion assassins, but when it comes down to it, a line of silvermists or ravenstern rangers mows down their slowly advancing infantry, and their cavalry is easy to take down due to their unarmored coursers, that get stuck even in a double line of archers, not to mention a phalanx of halberdiers, armored pikemen, etc...

moreover their lands are a bad starting place as they are full of dshar raiders which are mounted and fast and ride you down as long as you are a lowly level 1-10 adventurer.

perhaps one could devise a specific dshar tactic involving fast light horse archers, but as the dervishes and desert bowmen only have a certain chance to be mounted, one cannot count on them...

i see a representative of the authorities has answered while i was typing and is of slightly different opinion  . the above is of course just my personal viewpoint.

d'shar archer and calvary arent worth crap. I use Bladesmen/masters as a major part of my infantry, the assasins are nice, but they sometimes spawn with horses or no shields, which really screws with my stratagems.

i can see why you would say that, but I've found a mix is better than just bladesmen, especially in siege, I like to use empire legionares and armored crossbowmen mixed into my infentry, and some armored pike, tends to do really well .

The best thing that can happen to you if when you get ambushed by 5 bandits in a town while these 5 bandits are d'shar assassins.
Aren't those these guys who throw a dagger at you that makes 40+ damage?

Speaking of melee. I just love the fierdsvain berserkers. they sometimes spawn with nothing but shoes, just to show how badass they are.

few people follow d'shar culture, ugly armour, that's it...
everybody loves shining knight armour!

I guess I am just impartial to Persian/Arabian type culture.  Although if everything but their swordsmen suck then that is a shame.  I like archers.

D'shar resemble the Khergits so much so i automatically hated them from the beginning.
But for me i hate Plate and Knight armours. Dshar and Noldor armor (many colors) look best imo.
