MP Musket Era [WFAS] WFAS all purpose multiplayer mod

Users who are viewing this thread

Edit: This mod is aimed to make multiplayer playable or tolerable with singleplayer. God knows if this mod can get to anyone's server.

Let's get to it. This mod is for WFAS, it's for multiplayer. But what are its features you may ask? Tons... but there's nothing extremely special about this mod, it's mostly the work of my doing through Morgh's WB/WFAS Editor, so I HAVE NOT ADDED ANYTHING NEW, NO NEW ITEMS OR UNITS OR WHATSOEVER so it will probably work with other servers.

Captain Coop is the usual, modified units, weapons etc, but all bots and players have 10 ironflesh and around 300 strength! It's such a good mod I hate wasting my time writing this topic ABOUT IT.

Changes to the database include but are probably not limited to: higher damage weaponry, piercing cheap arrows and arrows, not just piercing arrows, so much more armour, all weapons can break blocks, musket butt and carbine butt attacks buffed a lot, (break block almost guaranteed on a musket butt attack, let alone a carbine butt attack but pistols are a flat 22b across the board except for double barrels) hand-crafted units, (ooh la la, and yes, I gave swedish dragoons half cuirasses to mess with you, hehe) strong shields, overpowered horses, etc.

This mod is also useful for telling your health on the Dynamic Squads server, so it's a backwards compatible mod?

Now: FACTIONS!!! (remember, multiplayer captain coop!)

Muscovites
Generally low armour, high damage, the glass cannon of the 17th century. Even musketeers can hand a hussar's butt to him with POLEAXES!!!
Infantry
Lightly armoured, high damage infantrymen who get paid to make shishkebabs on foot with their spears and pikes, and well known for their strength. Unfortunately, their proficiency with weapons can't hold a candle to other factions' troops.
Marksmen
Very lightly armoured, very high damage infantrymen with all sorts of piercing weapons to give any swedish swordsman a good run for his money. The last tier combines the worst of both worlds, moderately armoured musketmen WITH SPEARS!!! The musketmen part is terrible but when looking at their melee stats, they become infantry WITH muskets instead of musketmen WITH melee weapons. The resemblance is very uncanny between those 2 terms.
Cavalry
Scales their armour well, starts with tier 1 crappy cloth armour, tier 2 has the decent tegilai, tier 3 reiter armour, tier 4 mirror armour. The first 3 tiers all have deadly bows, but their bow skills are still no match for the true born Crimeans, however the first 3 tiers only have sabers and broadswords, so Russian cavalry is very reliant on bow damage and roadkill damage to kill heavily armoured opponents, let alone moderately armoured opponents!

Polish
A lightly armoured faction, although they have a few tricks up their sleeve to dominate heavily armoured opponents. That's really the Polish specialty of overpowering heavy armour with fast moving troops.
Infantry
From peasants with wooden sticks to feared pikemen, the Polish are all about armour penetration. They themselves are moderately armoured to shrug off any stray saber swinging their way. Moderate weapon proficiency when compared to other factions make them the jack of all trades that any army could use.
Musketeers
Polish musketeers compare to Russian ones when comparing firearm proficiency. However, the Polish musketeers inherit another trait of their infantry counterparts; moderately armoured, and with armour piercing weapons. Nuff said, though I would like to say the first 3 tiers of muskets can spawn with carpenter axes, sticks, etc. while the 4th tier has scythes and pitchforks.
Cavalry
First 3 tiers have nonexistent armour, but pack a punch with lances. Polish cavalry's specialty is delivering a lance up their mouth and hope they've eaten a lance at a lance restaurant before. The first 2 tiers throw daggers and knives at enemies, while the 3rd shoot with the bow and arrow, although they may be the WORST unit with the bow at 140 proficiency, and considering they're in the 3rd tier, that's trash. The last tier is the hussars of death with their signature lances and donning heavy armour, rare for Poland.

Crimeans
The Crimeans follow the simple rule of 'if it's not meant to fight, don't spend on it'. But every man in the Crimean Khanate IS meant to fight! They're sometimes very uniform and other times, very diverse. Their armour is wild and wacky at best, completely terrible at worst. They are like the Russians in armour terms.
Footmen
Only the first tier of the Crimean footmen bear a gun, throw in the added competition of bows and arrows and throwing weapons, and the old pistol always gets a good run for its money. The weakness is in the very selfish Janissaries who simply REFUSE to put on proper armour. The rest have simple bows and arrows, and cut down anyone who dares to come into their sight without a shield. The Crimeans in melee are a mixed bunch; some wield chekans of armour-piercing death, others wield sabers and wooden sticks. The Seymen in particular are the best at melee combat, with moderate armour and the chekan of death.
Mounted archers
The finest archers of the 17th century, they shoot arrows with extreme skill and the finest archery equipment available. Their melee skill however, is questionable at best, as most of them have sabers and quite low melee proficiencies.
Cavalry
Trample! The first tier of Crimean cavalry has the steppe horse, which goes a long way in an open area. All of them have shields and excellent shield proficiency. They wreck butt in close combat with excellent proficiencies and deadly weapons. Their armour scales nicely too, a robe for the first tier, the quilted robe for the 2nd, chainmail for the 3rd, and the yushman for the 4th.

Swedish
The heavy armour knights of the 17th century, they have superior equipment and in some cases superior proficiency.
Infantry
Halberdiers. They are called pikemen since they pack about the same amount of punch as a pikeman. This goes a long way with armour piercing, but does not help against faster weapons. Their proficiencies are well-practiced which makes up for their lack of ranged protection for the most part.
Musketeers
Pew pew! Annoying buggers! Everyone plays as a Swedish musketeer in multiplayer! And for a good reason, they shoot like crazy! They also run fast due to their ABYSMAL melee skills so they can theoretically run away from armoured enemies that are too tough to slice at. Their musket skills are unmatched however, only the Cossacks reach even within that amount of proficiency. The 4th tier has a half cuirass and a halberd, ready to crush, but it is nowhere near even a peasant in terms of polearm skills.
Cavalry
The real tanks of the 17th century, reiter half-armour takes everything! Except for a few angry 10 power strike peasants with maces, but oh well. They start out very well equipped, but as the enemies catch up in skill and equipment, the Swedish also evolve until the mighty Swedish reiter!

Cossacks
The budding underdogs with piss-poor armour are the wrecking balls in melee. How? They run fast, swing fast, and have true weapon proficiency!
Melee Cossacks
Armour penetration pain in the butt. While being ill-armoured themselves. Oh yeah.
Musket Cossacks
A very interesting mix of pike and shot like the Russians, combined into 1 man! Only the Serduks do their signature 10 power strike musket butt attack.
Cavalry Cossacks
Whee, fast horses! Lances and shoots everywhere.

To be continued  anything you have to say or any suggestions? Also please tell me how do I upload an image to a post?
