WFaS: The Thing Everyone Will Rage Quit From.

Basicly i had been playing for a real long time and i was starting to grow strong, i had an army of about 60 elite troops, and i was a vassal of the Kingdom of Sweden. I had been busting my ass with all kinds of tedious tasks like running letters for 30 thaler and running cattle and many different stuff. I recalled from Warband that you were able to create enterprises so i went to a town. The only option i could find was to send a caravan so i thought cool. Then i selected the option to send a caravan to send to a city far to the south from around Konigsberg. Then i realised that i have to escort the bloody thing myself i thought o man but yeah.. well, **** it. Not very far on the road to my destination and I see a Moscowy army chasing me. They caught up with me so i tell some troops hold them back while i escape. After repeating this 3 times im all out of luck the caravan was captured and i got on debts of 400.000.000. Im like WTF!!!!! Game is ruined. I cant do anything not recruit any tropps, not do anything. And to run letters and minor tasks is out of the question so i decide to have another go on the caravan. but alas it happens again and then its 800.000.000 so i rage quit.

From the story of my friend, Swedish Ghost

Here's a tip:

1. Save often

2. If you see an army... RUN. It's much better to run away and lose some crappy 4k Thaler caravan than lose everything

3. Debts of 4m? sounds absurdly unlikely unless you let debts from the merchants slide for a really, really long time, in which case it's your fault and you deserved to be utterly screwed. Or cheated just because you don't like the game, so you edited the debt column to persuade others not to play.

4. Try investing in something other than combat skills so you can be the "OMFG utlimatez no0b killaz wiv ya big sword nd gun n stuffz"

5. How did you run a caravan a second time with no cash?

Bravo.

Did you even check the picture? Besides, it was not me. My friend. Seems like you read only the title and then posted.

I saw the picture

Pictures are easily manipulated.

I read it all, I saw it all, I think something might be sketchy here to say the least.

I apologise if it is true, but it seems so absurd...

Not the first instance of absurdly high (random) debt that's been mentioned, so yeah, it's probably true.

However, the only one you have to blame for your ragequit in a situation like that is yourself - unless you're seriously masochistically inclined and pretty much want your game to end ni a trainwreck one way or another, you shouldn't be playing WFaS without multiple saves. There's too much (random) stuff that can go wrong, and getting back on your feet is tedious at best, and often downright impossible once it does.

It's not a problem, in fact, you don't laugh at all. Laugh more, and your life is already better.

This guy is bizarre.  I feel ashamed bumping this dudes terrible thread

The best and easiest way to make money is find a town with a Merchant Bank where you can just set money in there as a deposit and let it gain a certain % interest every month. I started a neutral merc with a bunch of mercs in my party to ward off any rebels while I did a crap load of caravan runs (like 30 mercs is enough to ward off most rebels). Then you deposit that money into a deposit and let it sit and gather interest every month. And the interest isnt just after it sits there for a month, it is constantly building. I just reached 1 million thalar in my merchant bank and gain like almost 200,000 thalar every month from the interest. (I have a good % because I own the town myself and they love me, at least I think thats why I get a good interest rate of 20%.)

If you do that, you can have a crap load of money if you are patient and wait several months. Now I keep that money constantly gathering while my army of Merc's conquer the lands.

Money is no issue for me.

Oh, and hehe, what makes you think i have to be a masochist to enjoy a complete crash-ending? They are very amusing at times, and unless you suffer directly from losing a game of mount&blade, i can't see how your opinion is anything else than an opinion.

To the above: thanks for the tips, i'll let him see this thread

Don't take this the wrong way, but I actually find your friend's situation kind of incredibly hilarious. Maybe I'm one of the aforementioned masochists, but really, this is the kind of stuff that really makes me love the Mount and Blade series; those amazing "OH NO" moments where the game will stop at nothing to kill you. It's fun and wacky and infuriating, and makes the story of "The Little Mercenary Who Could" just that much more charming, especially if you somehow bounce back, against all odds.

Anyway, best of luck to your pal!

You're not the only one

His friend only labeled the picture 8 million though.  Looks like 816 million.  Which is even better.

If you've amassed a debt so titanic in scope that the addition of another sixteen million gold doubloons seems too insignificant to mention, then you are playing video games very correctly.
