Main story was really poor tbh, really flaccid villains but Heart of Stone DLC is great, working on Blood and Wine, looks pretty so far, story on the other hand doesn't seem so promising.

The main story is a little generic. Blood and Wine has a couple decent twists in it, and I feel it would have been as good as Hearts of Stone in terms of character development if the DLC were longer. That said, Hearts of Stone's theme is very obvious early on to anyone remotely well read, though it is executed quite well (until the very end, IMO, if you choose the path I did).

Really poor?

I get it's not as good as 2's main story but it's most definitely not poor. It ties up every single loose end I can think of. The villain's were ok.. if only Eredin's boss fight wasn't cakewalk and had he needed more air time. The sidequests more than make up for it plus the game is beautiful and pretty much makes every open world game look like trash. Hearts of Stone also has by far the best DLC story in memory.
