What do you think of Soot's alignment?
I think I liked him better when his posts were shorter.
Well, it wasn't the intention, but turns out this might please you a little more. Writing anything lengthy about you is ****ing hard, you know.

Xardob: A nice opening post where he immediately started putting some pressure on Mag. From there he got straight into some banter, but soon enough he gave some good input. The way he interjected in favor of Face whose post one LoS Mag was questioning gave me an innocent read on him, as minor a thing as that was. Then there was his fairly neutral banter with Adaham which they both knew wouldn't result in anything. Some more banter, and then he asked Pizza what number of wolf reads he would be comfortable with. After that he didn't post for quite a few pages, but he came back with several quite lengthy (by his standards) posts where he chipped in on all the ongoing discussions and also brought up new ideas. These to me indicate that he was giving serious thought to the game from the very start, probably with the intention of actually catching the wolves. The way he actively participated in the discussion gave me a way better chance to judge his motives than in most of his games, and that read is of genuine interest because of the quality of the game.

On this reread I've noticed that since his good start, Xardob actually hasn't done anything. What he did post still strikes me as pretty high quality for the length, but definitely not the same stuff I so liked from him at the start. His 'masterplan' of voting on Kronic would have been pretty good if it wasn't so horribly telegraphed, at least. I'm very dissapointed, as I was so liking reading the new Xardob, but I suppose this was so be expected. I'm giving a little thought to Adaham's theory of Xardob reacting to pressure from others too much for his innocent self, but as I see it it wasn't in reaction to pressure but to the quality of the game. Based on his early play I still think he's most likely innocent.

Please, don't mind me. I'm getting old and grumpy (in WW, that is).

I'm pleased.

It was? Damn, I need to work on my misdirection a little. New goal for this game. Completely blindside Soot.

I'm very dissapointed, as I was so liking reading the new Xardob, but I suppose this was so be expected.
He'll come back. It will probably be in short bursts of activity, but that's better than nothing, right?

Indeed, it is.

Frisian: ****ty jokes, trying to explain them. Remarks that Pizza looks like he's 'just clawing at Phone', which sums up my take on that situation quite effectively. Later mentions that he might have said the former remark because he's more used to Face as a player. Makes excuses for not posting. Makes a good post about how Face vs Pizza seems like it might just end up with both of them lynched and innocent, and that we should probably avoid that. Doesn't think Kronic is a wolf either. Makes a LoS with mostly neutral reads, a couple of innocent ones, and not a single wolf. Comments on Pizza's "I'm a villager" claim, seemingly meaning that it was suspicious. Literally shrugs off questions about his list of suspects not actually having a single suspect on it. Confirms that Pizza's innocent claims may be a sign of fur. Is surprised that Pizza read that he's not Mag's packmate from a 'bit of nothing'. Complains about WoTs. A bigger post detailing that he felt obligated to mention that he didn't think Kronic was scummy, that he's not inclined to pick at every mention of his name and that he doesn't really understand Pizza's masterplan. Next posts, explains what he meant by the 'clawing at Phone' post regarding Pizza, and how he actually has know idea if it was scummy.

I'll be honest with you guys. At this point I'm resigned to the fact that I'll just have to deal with Frisian with gut reads. My current read is that he's innocent, because he just doesn't appear to care about what anyone thinks of his posts. While his general strategy to winning games as scum is to sit around and let the village lynch others, I still think he tends to make some conscious efforts to avoid suspicion in those cases. The attitude he has now seems distinctly innocent to me. Guess I'll unvote.

That tells me what you think about his style, not his alignment,
Shhh, no one else needs to know I'm avoiding the question.  :wink:

To partially answer your question, I don't share your read of Soot playing both sides when it comes to the melted pizza argument. I detect no hint of him waiting to just jump on the most convenient wagon. At the very least, the impression he is giving is that he genuinely thinks both are innocent, and any sudden change in this interpretation is grounds for hanging.

You talked about Soot's interactions with Mag. What do you think of a possible Soot-Mag pack?

Welp, been entirely preoccupied with RL and narrating elsewhere.

I see I didn't miss much.

Questions were asked of me by a number of folks. Quite honestly I feel like anything I say is going to be wasted energy at this point.

I don't feel like the answers to those questions will help anyone read me or solve the game, so I'll just be going through the motions at this point.

Yes, but it could mean anything - there is no indication of whether I think he is a wolf or not. Accepting it to suit your need, without wondering what my motives are strike me as very odd.

I'm sure most of what I do strikes you as very odd. Like, you could post this after every post of mine and I just accept the fact that I've provoked your distrust response and you're fighting a losing battle to use your cognitive process to overcome that instinct.

There's nothing more I can really do to help you with that. You're on your own.

@Xardob:

Funny you should mention that, because when I made some notes earlier, I flagged one of Mag's posts as "Defense of packie Soot?" I personally do not find it very likely right now, but yeah.

@Pizza:

Might not help you to answer the questions, but the point is to help others (because, you know, that's what a villager is supposed to do).

If you've read you should realize I have been potentially considering you innocent, so the continued response of "blah blah it won't matter because you think I am a wolf" is not helping.

The fact that I made the point with some snarkiness doesn't mean that the point wasn't made, or was any less legitimate. This is yet another argument I've present that you've outright ignored. You're not helping your position.

@Pizza:

You mentioned earlier in the thread that Kronic and Hawk were D2 lunches at the earlier - what was the reason for your change if heart, seeing as they are in your top 3 now?

You're missing the progression from where yourself, Vieira, and Soot were my top three, and I put those folks lower on my list, and onto later in the thread where I stated that you were blue, Vieira and Soot were green, and Magorian looked pretty darned red with Hawk as his wolf partner.

You're missing it probably because you're only looking at my posts a certain way or not reading them very closely for comprehension, no offense.

Ook.

@Pizzaguy

Before I re-look at your masterplan^tm plan, there is something I need to know. Please answer this honestly without any masterplan^tm mentality because I don't know whether I'm over-thinking myself or whether I do see what I think I see:

Assuming that Eli is not lynched today, and that he survives the night, would you lynch him tomorrow? And if so, how high of a lynch priority would he be to you?

I just want a simple answer. A yes or no on the first question, and a relative answer for the second.

That would all depend on who is lynched today and how they flip. Someone else flips wolf unexpectedly would make my first priority to examine the thread for their wolf buddies.

AORN there's nothing persuading me off of Magorian or Hawk for today as my top 2.

Eli I would push to mid-game or later, regardless of the flips. I have no intention to lynch Eli presently for the reasons I've stated a couple times.

I didn't miss that, it's just that Hawk had not posted anything else at the point of transition. If you think Hawk and Mags are wolves, I'd suggest reading another game where both have played together because the interactions you see as wolf partnery are nothing new for them.
