Adaham
A lot more banter from Adaham in this game than the last, which I approve of, because it makes him more relatable to me. His first few posts don’t give me any indication of his alignment, because he seems to be in ‘welcome’ mode for Pizzaguy which I suspect he would do regardless of whether innocent or scum. The first post I really like is
here, where he does not let Pizzaguy’s enthusiasm carry his own suspicions on Melter, but instead takes a step back and explains why he’s not making a snap judgment.
Some back and forth with
Soot appears in his next post, which I believe is paranoia stemming from Soot’s buddying behaviour towards him in the past two games. I can’t really blame Adaham for that paranoia, though, because it’s similar (albeit for different reasons) to the paranoia I have towards Soot, too. I’m not sure yet whether this might cause bias in Adaham’s suspicion of Soot, but will have to continue watching their interactions. I have learnt, however, that ‘player is trying to buddy up to me’ can be a very personal feeling that those external to the event don’t always recognise.
I get the same vibe from Adaham’s post
here as I got from FrisianDude; he attempts to move the topic of conversation along by getting Pizza to look at other players, and also includes a slight admonishment for Pizza that right now he’s ‘not being very helpful’. And again, as with Frisian, I think a wolf would benefit more from encouraging the Pizza/Melter war instead of trying to halt it. He further encourages Pizza to pursue other targets
here. The very paranoid, WIFOM-drinking part of my mind could see this as one packmate advising another not to go too far and start looking for other targets, but I’m not getting any sort of packmate feel between Adaham and Pizza, so I think this a case of Adaham genuinely trying to advise a new player (to our forum) on how best to help the hunt.
Not long after, Adaham starts to pick up some
suspicion of Xardob. He also says
here that he thinks Xardob is a wolf, and the feeling I get is that Xardob’s offer to “team play” and to do so with different/opposing parties whilst simultaneously ‘buddying’ with Adaham, is setting off Adaham’s paranoia alarm. Adaham says that in Xardob’s contributory posts he doesn’t seem to be going after anybody very much, but I’ll have to re-read Xardob’s longer posts and decide whether I agree with that later.
Another innocent-feel post from Adaham is
here where he explains to Pizza that his Soot/Xardob voting preference is based heavily off meta, and questions Pizza’s flip on Magorian. He follows this up in
this post with a decent explanation on his Soot/Xardob suspicions, which helps me to understand his thought process especially in relation to Soot.
Overall, I get a stronger innocent vibe from Adaham than I do from Frisian, which I think is in part due to his more outgoing and chatty style in this game. To me, this feels like natural Adaham, and the way he has tried to make Pizza feel welcome without actually coddling him, or giving him a free pass, gives me a good feeling.
Vieira
After what feels like a bit of a wobbly start, Vieira has really started to pick up his game and make what I feel are some solid contributions. The fact that he doesn’t go to pieces under Pizza’s questioning about the mis-capitalisation of Hawk’s name in the OP gives me a more innocent than wolfy vibe. Vieira sticks to his guns, reiterating his stance on the matter whilst not focusing solely on defending himself, which also gives me a good feeling about him.
This post in particular I like, it shows Vieira questioning Pizza on some of his reads, which shows me that he’s trying to to keep an open mind and understand Pizza’s point of view. He has some criticisms of both Melter and Pizza in this post, and they are criticisms which I agree with. He echoes Adaham’s previous criticism, and says that the feeling he gets from Pizza is that he wants to sit back and rest on his laurels after catching a wolf (Melter). Whilst I don’t agree or disagree with that assessment, I can see where Vieira is coming from with it. He further gives me good vibes by picking up on something relating to Soot which I consider scum-Soot behaviour, that is, lumping together people in a pack in a pointless and unnatural way. But I’ll go into that more on my section with Soot.
Vieira’s
LoS is at first glance quite basic, but some of the phrases he uses (“Starts off reasonable… but on further reading…” for example) indicate to me that Vieira is looking at what the other players say multiple times, which shows that he’s at least paying attention and coupled with his questioning of Pizza described above, I think shows that at this point he is still trying to keep an open mind. Even though his LoS is quite short it has a ‘natural’ feel to it, as if he just wrote down and highly summarised his thoughts. I don’t get any feeling of ‘leaving doors open’ for himself to escape and switch his vote.
I think one of the things that gives me an innocent vibe from Vieira overall is the fact that most of his posts come across as unfiltered. For example, several contain minor contradictions and other small errors which Vieira has admitted are often due to lack of proof-reading. It would be so easy for him to proof-read and remove those errors before posting, and I think if he were a wolf then he would make more of an effort to avoid those errors and avoid drawing such attention to himself. My experience of Vieira is that when he’s got attention on him as a wolf, he tends to be flummoxed more easily. Therefore, the slips he’s made so far, I feel, actually speak in his favour.
Sorry it took so long to resume this, I had a headache so went for a nap after I started. Will try to continue with everyone else over the next few hours. Time to make myself the strongest coffee imaginable.
