Magorian Aximand 说:
There he is. Heeeeey buddy.

But Hawk doesn't try to kill either myself or Xardob. Definitely out of the ordinary. Must be a wolf. Can we lynch him now?

Tell me directly to vote for Hawk, and tell me it is not a joke, and I shall.

Pharaoh X Llandy 说:
But you're right, as far as I remember. You did start to point out his wolfishness after some real time interaction with him, and not for "OMGUS" reasons at all.

It's true. The "Let the OMGUS flow through you" was just a play on him suspecting me and the whole Star Wars avatar thing though and should have been an obvious joke from the .

As much as I'd love to tell you that, I actually have to play this game in earnest. It is genuinely out of the ordinary for Hawk to not settle on Xardob or myself immediately, but that's hardly enough to call him a wolf. If I do end up making an actual case on him, you'll know.

Pharaoh X Llandy 说:
Ugh. Thread devolves into a "he started it" argument, Pharaoh Llandy goes to get food to go with her whisky.
Actually, I must admit I agree with Llandy there (and I'm not just saying that because she helped me getting my new avatar running). While there's plenty of stuff I agreed with in pizza's case, I'm getting to a point that I think it doesn't add anymore, and in fact leads a bit to a polarization of the discussion. Not very helpful. Spread your wings and share the love, pizza. Make some other cases and let the Phone thing rest for now. In fact, the latest chapter of your ongoing saga makes your case look weaker than before. As a matter of fact, Melter ends up in a situation in which anything he does is more condemning for him. Damned if you do, damned if you don't yadda yadda...

So yeah, while people seem to accuse me of not hunting so much, I'd say that besides pizza being focused on phoney, there hasn't been a whole lot of hunting going on in general. Only notable exception is Magorian, who always seems to be online in the right moment to prod in the right direction (maybe with the exception of Hawk, who he seems to be holding a grudge against  ).

You have no comments regarding Soot, then?
I did mention some thoughts about Soot earlier, haven't you seen them? I find it quite interesting to see, that Soot has played two games in a row as a villain in which he made it a big part of his strategy to buddy up with me. This time, he started off so-so, but seems now to lean towards making up some **** against me. I'm not yet sure what to make of that.

Other than that, what you said about him makes a surprising amount of sense. So yeah, I can see that...

Magorian Aximand 说:
Seems to be? Only seems to be? I must be losing my touch.
You're doing great, just don't push your first-timer-neoxardobist-mojo too much, or you risk losing it.

Phonemelter 说:
Ignoring questions I had asked because he thinks my drunk posting was a farce and that I am hiding behind it, which has no relevance to the game.

Of course it has relevance to the game, you silly banana.  :fruity:

Me faking an injury to avoid posting, and then it being really obvious that I am faking, would be wolfy as all hell.

Oh, sorry, I can't think right now, I'm too drunk! Oh, except here's a ton of really lucid thought processes. Incorrect and wolfy ones, but obviously ones which offer no excuses as to why you cannot do X.

So when you tried to excuse yourself with drunkenness, I called BS, and I still do.

What exactly would I be trying to hide?

Your stunningly guilty conscience which shines out of your brain and illuminates your entire skull like a firefly in the night.

I'd suggest wearing a hat. It would hide it better than faking drunk as a crutch to avoid lines of argument, while arguing.

What I was doing, engaging you in debate, was the exact opposite of "hiding." At no point did I ever say "ignore me, I'm just drunk" or use my inebriation to avoid anything - where is my "dishonestly?" If anything, I see this post as a way of "throwing up smoke" to avoid a response for whatever reason.

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Thanks for asking:

1. There is a differenc ebetween reading into posts, and reading into posts too much.

Explain your theory on how what I am doing is substantively different from whatever motivates the votes which have been placed so far.

The only difference is that I have yet to vote, and I am open notebook, from where I sit. But feel free to correct my approach.
Phonemelter 说:
I'll try, but thinking is hard at the moment.

....

Then....

I'm not being dishonest about my struggles - I've just foudn that if I was going to start making more seirous sarguments, then I should at leas ttry a bit harder to make my posting legible. Plus when I started to post two hours ago, I had already stopped drinking heaviyl for some time, so the sobering-up process had already started. Luckily I have also been sataying more hydrated than I usually dpo, so that process has quickly sped up.

Compare to:

3. I never said anything about your or my scum-finding talents - everyone here are varying tactics that work equally well. I am just saying that you, as well as everyone else, should know that wolves are not going to be as blatantly obvious as you come off as thinking at this point. Might be a good starting point, but the logic from which you seem to be drawing conclusions this early is not what I would expect from someone who has played the game as much as you.

Which was minutes earlier.

Doesn't smell like a drunk to me. Maybe alcohol was involved, yes, but this pretense that oh, I'm too drunk to think right now, is pure, unadulterated hogwash. It's like someone with a papercut calling off their work shift.

Excuses, excuses. Wolf. wolf. wolf.

Also, I find it a bit picky of you to show up after so many pages (in which I did contribute, even if not to a genius degree) and pick me out for responding to something else than your post. As you might have noticed, there's many people around right now, and the fact 1 post was dedicated to somebody else, doesn't mean I'm never gonna say something about Soot or you.

Humor is contextual, and when it is missing the context, it's not funny.

It's like when rich old white conservatives make jokes about poor people. Maybe it's funny to them but the audience goes dead quiet.

Context is important. If I did not OMGUS you, then your joke falls apart.

I haven't yet begun to vomit smileys, so I think I'm doing okay.

Selling your vote while legitimizing yourself by borrowing someone else's credibility doesn't do you much good in my opinion.

I know I joked about people doing what I want without the work, but being innocent doesn't make me right. I'd much rather you hunt than follow. When we agree, so much the better.

@Pizzadude:

Yes, thinking about how to explain something that to me makes a lot of sense, but hard to put into words because the reason is not clear-cut and based off more of a feeling than anything else (i.e. the difference between your reading too much into posts vs. others), is difficult. But other kinds of reasoning, less so.

Phonemelter 说:
Claims my priorities are making serious arguments about game theory rather than "finding wolves," but I had already given my initial hunting thoughts and was continuing to hunt by engaging with him to get a better read. This is what I would call a "dishonest spin," if anything, especially since he seems to see the value of game theory in this later post.

You have ceased almost all wolf hunting ever since I accused you. Other than OMGUS'ing me (which is valid) you've done almost nothing but defend yourself poorly.

Villager reaction to my wrong accusation of you is to laugh at me, give a defense MAYBE, and attack wolves.

also I reaaaally don't want to start with excuses or anything but I kiiinda ****ed up my exams. I'm going to have to do a resit next tuesday. For which I kiiiinda need to learn. Kind of a lot. Also wallow in depression after yet another abject failure. That too is on the agenda.

I'm honestly baffled y'all already seem able to make cases.  Edit; 10 replies in between.

Or latch onto half-baked suspicions, intentionally drag out a distracting feud and play both sides by openly offering to bandwagon. Because that's what villagers do, right?
