Weird thing happens to my game every tim ei loadd it

I have been playing the full version for quite a while now, but tonight when i loaded the game, it apeared as if the entire game had gotten a white film overlayed on it. everything is whitish, menus, the scenes, the world map, everything has this very bright white apearance. i havent changed a single graphics option.

I have used the unoficial editing tools but only on items. i havent used the map editor or anything else.

if you need a screenshot i will post one.

If someone knows what is doing this or how to fix it i will be greatly a preciate this

PS: this is version .711 which i have been patching since .704, all myoptions are on highest graphics, my laptop has 1 gig mem, amd 64+ 3700 processor (2.4 GHz), radeon mobility 9700 128mb of ram. 80 gig HD.

ok i took a screen shot of this but when i went to paste it my screen looked normal on the screenshot. this is very weird. i rpomise tho, every time i play this game only it does this, all my other games work fine without this

Try changing the resolution and/or color depth in windows and see if it changes.

Try turning down the brightness\gamma in game.

Failing that, check that the graphics card itself hasn't a gamma control. If it has, try adjusting it.

how do you change the gama in game i couldnt find any option

if it was the graphics card wouldnt all my ganes have this problem?

Don't know if you can alter it in game. Not at my own PC so I don't have it available to check.

As to affecting other games it depends on the monitor, the card and the game. Certain combinations require different settings depending on the resolution or the refresh rate. For example, M&B looks fine on my own PC, but is far too dark on my girlfriends unless the brightness is turned up.
One thing you can try is running M&B in windowed mode and check whether the problem appears there too. You can set windowed mode in the config file, or hit F2 (disable shadows first else it will crash).
It could be that the monitor hasn't been used in the resolution\refresh rate combo M&B uses, and is falling back on the factory default settings to run the game. In that case, tweaking the brightness and contrast on the monitor when playing M&B should resolve the issue.
Alternatively, you may be able to set a profile for the game through the video card driver. Either one should resolve the problem.

thanks man, that solved it, i had a setting messed up in my vid card under full 3D graphics

but this has given birth to a new problem, when i run M&B in windowed mode the FPS get down to 3fps when in normal mode i run at 200fps (i changed the Cap), woudl you knwo why this is?

Probably down to the video card.

Some cards do struggle when trying to run a game in a window, especially if the game is optimised for full screen. Sometimes altering the resolution of the desktop can help, sometimes not.

To be honest your better off running in fullscreen anyway. Nothings more annoying than lining up the perfect headshot, only to have the cursor drift out of the window and on to the desktop....
