Weird FPS problems.

Okay I got a heavy courser and when I went into battle I had unreal speed, I mean I know the speed was boosted but it almost seems as if everything speeds up, my attacks, other units and animations on my part.
I then got a sword something with a K that has like 120 speed, now the game is nearly unplayable because I run by at such high speeds and I die really fast. :?

Is this just in my head?  Because it really seems to be messing with the overall game speed.
Also, what is the deal with the FPS on hilly terrain? I never had this in any other mod or native.  :(

Have you tried shifting your finger from 'W' to 'S' shortly before you swing your sword?

Does the game lag heavily? If so, does it seem to happen the most when your forces (or allied forces) clash with the enemy in melee? If so, that's a weird Native bug that happens in hilly (and sometime tree laden) terrain.

No, it's from the start, which is really weird, I shouldn't have so much problems with my 8600GTS Card.  I got very minor lag in native, this is more line a freeze every 2 seconds.

Wasn't there this rather big post some time back, where someone elaborated that this is caused by the way M&B does the pathfinding on the battlefield? And since our beloved NE uses formation it only gets worse. It was something along this lines.
Oh and apparently some people can at least decrease the lag by using a modified map. Without trees that is and rather ugly.
Might be worth a look though. And since it's save compatible and all...

This is what I'm talking about:

First off I would like to say that I think your mod is amazing.. After having tried more than my fair share of other, top quality mods, this one fits my needs perfectly! I follow most of this mod's updates, I know I'm new here but I've been playing M&B for quite some time now, I know of no other mod that gets updated as often or as substantially.
The only downside I can see is the lag-hit caused by the formations script. As far as I can tell, this only occurs when battling amongst the trees. (The search function gives me a headache, so I apologise if this has already been done/suggested before..) So I took it upon myself to remove said trees until a real fix is made.

Again, sorry if this has been done before or if I should have asked for permission first.. Just say the word and I'll remove this.

(In case people don't know how to install this, find the module folder you want to use this with ((If you installed this mod, you know how to do that at least :P)) Backup the original map.txt file, then replace it with this one. Simple.)

Just read your FAQ and saw this:
"Why does the game seem to stutter in some terrain combats, but not others?"
We don't know the exact cause of this, but it shows up in other mods and sometimes even in Native.  Try setting the number of rag dolls to 10 if you have it set to unlimited in the options menu.  If that doesn't work, then we have no solution at the moment.

Actually, it is the formations script and it seems to only occur on hilly/tree-heavy terrain scenes. In fact, as far as our testing goes, it only happens on tiles with trees. I have tested the last few versions of NE using this map (or variations,) and also two other mods which use this same formations script. Since removing the trees, I have not encountered the stutter at all.

Or just try to pick you battles outside of hilly and/or areas with a lot of trees.

Will this affect the game? >_>

I'm only noticed this in some mountains where i use horses and its very frustrating. I try to not use any formations and play with a lot of archers in these areas, I have even noticed if you dismount your cavalry the game will go a little smoother.

What do you mean? This shouldn't have any negative effect on saved games and if it does, so what. Backups!
Can't say if this really works as I've never tried this. But apparently it helped the guy who uploaded the map.
