Weird character movements - ice-skating

I cannot be the only one who noticed this. I believe this causes many problems in terms of how combat feels. Especially once you start making circles with your character the gliding becomes pretty obvious. It is not as big as a problem in single player since the AI cannot make use of it however you can still abuse the AI with this, especially in close combat-duel type of situations.

But in multiplayer it just decreases the quality of the combat. I just don't know how many times I get hit behind my head/back by the player that was in front of me like half a second ago and vice versa. You can't really 'square up' with someone, and keep them in front you for long because you will probably end up behind each other's back without even noticing it. It feels like the feet are just visually moving but you are controlling a hockey puck rather than a human with limbs, y'know. This gliding issue also prompts another problem and that is backpedaling.

I just refuse to believe that this is the final state of the combat, and that there won't be anymore changes in combat. I know this has been pointed out a lot since the closed beta, but just wanted to point it out again. I am %100 that TW will do something about these issues when the time comes. I believe in them. We'll just wait and see i guess.

yep, been pointed out for months.

It was actually in an ok spot in Beta for a period but they added weight to equipment then ramped up movement speed in response to complaints that people were too slow (they were but only slightly). It's never been revisited.

They don't have to make characters generally slower, only when characters are swinging their weapons -when attacking- would be fine i guess. I'm sure they are aware of this problem just like we are, that makes me wonder if they think there is actually an upside of this that we are unable to see. It just doesn't seem a like a feature to me though, its a problem. Not always but I can also clearly see that the visual motion of the feet doesn't match with the actual movement of the character, especially when making a circle. So it's a dead giveaway that there is a problem with the movements.
