I found something that can be related.
Summary: Visual bug with Highland Noble Bracers
How to Reproduce: Eqiup Highland Noble bracers and character transform into "big bush" in equipment screen, dialogs and in some cases in battle/cities. It disappears when you step left(steping right make it pop again) or if you use two handed spear.
