WEe's Helmets

Yarr, here is a present for mi maties. This treasure holds the helmets which I have looted (done). More loot will be added regurarly. For now, don't make requests. I still need to develop my skills on modeling more advanced helmets. When I think I'm good enough, Ill take requests. Suggestions are welcome. YARR.

Info: I need to still make lods. Few of them may be a bit too high vertice count and face count. Ill try to make lods when I have time.

The fantasy helm.

I have no better name.

Bare in mind that I only textured it. Made a few little changes to the model but otherwise, it's not mine.

Note that the cheekplates are a bit too high. This is due to the multimesh problem with the helmet. It doesn't go right. It's right in the brf file, but messed up in-game. Ill try to fix it when I can. There are seems on the helmet which are visible, Ill fix them when I can. Other than to, I think it's fine for now. So furthermore, PICS:

Great. Aren't you guys thinking that M&B needs a new engine? The super-awesome visuals provided by the modders just don't blend very well with the roughness of the current one (, IMHO). TW, we're waiting for M&B 2 with combat largely the same, but graphics that can strike Bethesda in the ground... :razz:
Actually, it's the bodies that are rough. If someone made a better body... hmmm...

Thank you :smile: Been trying to search for some helmet to do. You can suggest a helmet which I should do, but when you do, do include good pictures of the whole helmet. The side picture is the most important. A good one that is.

MB need new graphic if it will be like shogun2:total war (with direct sdk) that could be awesome

actually if i am not wrong textures without mip-maps looks much better in game
i have tested only single armor with that but if i am not wrong there a single solution
 
Yes, thats why I don't use mip maps on my helmets. It degrades the quality greatly. I tested it on the armet helmet and the quality was kinda awful with mip maps. And I agree on the graphics part. We really need new graphics. We need to really bring the atmosphere.

You are wrong in fact. Texture with no mipmaps looks awful in a distance, not to mention degraded performance.
But you are right in saying that MB has problems with mipmaps. They kick in too early, and blur too close, so that you can see the blur.
Remedy: make 2x less number of mipmaps. E.g. if your dds supports 10 mipmap stages, make 5

Ah, well that explains it why they look so blurry at a small distance too.

Edit: Finished texturing the fantasy helmet. Illl post pics soon :3
