So I often check on who is viewing my personal website to see if companies I sent job applications to are potentially interested, and I've noticed quite a few bots from Ukraine, Russia, etc. trying to crawl through pages as if it was a WordPress site in order to steal data and whatever. No big deal, this kind of thing is expected, but recently noticed one bot run /?x=() on the URL followed by:
Content-type:text/plain;echo;echo;echo M`expr 1330 + 7`H;id;echo @ HTTP/1.1 200 2532
What is that? A variation of the ShellShock bug, or something else? In any case, what are ways to increase security and crack down on bots? My website does not have any sensitive information on it, but I figure this stuff is important to know anyways.
