Nice pictures, 2 & 4 are pretty, 1 & 3 make me want to play STALKER. Spooky cranes, I guess.

Anyway, it's been a really nice 115f/46c here lately. It sounds crazy hot, but it's really been great, running in it is tough but doable and diving in the pool right after running a mile and a half is pretty much better than sex. Speaking of sex, it's also nice that this is one of those places where people are generally decently attractive because I've never seen it be this socially acceptable to walk around in nothing but your underwear.

If the humidity were 20% or above I'd agree, but it's only 11% here and that makes the heat really pleasant, especially at night.

*I don't perform manual labor outdoors though, so that's probably a big influence. RIP construction workers right now.

If you can't handle the desert at her worst, you don't deserve her at her best.

In CR, when temperatures get above 30, employers often send all non-essential employees home (with pay). I think there is some regulation that they have to do it when it gets above 35, but I don't know exactly, because a) that happens very rarely and b) what am I a lawyer or something.

Meanwhile, F-land is averaging 11°C (52°F) with 80% humidity. Yay midsummer.

Saame here, and it's making me crazy. I thought I would hate UK because it's rainy, but actually it's unbearably humid and hot; and no place has air conditioning which makes things much worse.

I keep telling people that the rain thing is a meme. There are droughts here every year and the south east of england is one of the driest places in europe.

It's rainy and grey in Scotland. Even when it's hot and humid, it's grey in Scotland. Apart from a few days a year.

Down south in England there is less grey, but it's still hideous.

Set off from my girlfriends house this morning and it was 24o with blue skies. 4 hours and 200 miles later the temperature has dropped 10 degrees and its raining  :meh:

The clouds were weird as hell today. A boy in the olayground who likes to talk to me about quantam physics and meteorology ran over to show me how there was a really prominent halo around the sun. The sky was populated by lenticular clouds, wave clouds, cirrus radiatus, and some cloud types I've never seen before. Planes were casting shadows on multiple layers of cloud and the sky seemed to change completely every single minute even though it was hard to tell just by looking. It looked like the sky was full of UFOs, or like a video game with a terrible skybox.
