One thing I wanted to point out is when I start a new character I can win tournaments rather easy on realistic settings as I can swing just as fast as seasoned lords. At level 0 the character should really struggle to compete in tournaments. Suggestion would make skill level mean something, at lower levels you would be sluggish and have handing penalties. As you get more proficient your speed and handling would improve.

Also range units melee skills should not be on par with melee troops, they should be at a minimum one tier lower. Otherwise there is no point in infantry, you can just use crossbow units with shields as infantry.

-Make skill difference matter
-Range units should have a lower level tier melee skill compared to melee units - basically about 30 points less
