Weapon Range?

I did a quick search and didn't find anything... so is the "weapon length" stat for weapons equal to centimeters?

Er... it's in... Units. I've never really thought about that before, other than "The Bigger, The Better."

Not always. Try to use a pike againsta a high-athletics footman.

Exactly what Worbah said. If you get a Lancer knocked off his horse he is pretty much a dead man.

one thing: i believe, ranged weapons' relative ranges are ridiculous... no way, one can throw a javelin/axe the same distance (and, mind you - accuracy) as an arrow... but that's exactly what's happening in the game: you can get knocked off your horse by a javelin thrown across half the map...

Throwing weapons don't trouble me none, because I can always see them coming. Unless they're thrown by mounted steppe-swine, in these situations I have become adept at catching jarid with my backside.

That would be sensible enough.

Can I ask, does anyone else find the double-sided lance terribly useless? In practice, it seems to extend barely a foot from the front-end of a horse.

I think it's centimeters, counted out from your hand. So it's not the full length of the weapon, it's the effective length.

And soup_alex, yeah, it's more useful as a spear than as a lance. Great lance FTW.

Thank you, okiN. I actually quickly grew to love my jousing lance - which might just be the longest weapon in the game(?) - & because instantly knocking someone out is more useful than instantly killing them... ESPECIALLY if they happen to be of noble birth.

And pardon my ignorance, but does "FTW" mean "Fabricated To Win", or what?

Close, For The Win

Ah, I get it, now. Thanks!

I really should have clocked that sooner, though, as I remember Ingolif's signature (?) at a time being "New Zealand for teh win". My memory does drop by, on occasion.

In my neighborhood FTW means F**k the world. I love SlightFeelingofRegrets avatar because Frank Frazetta is awesome. And I even liked those three novels based on his paintings. I apologise in advance if you don't know what the hell I'm going on about.

Well, I admit I don't use spears or pikes. I tend to use mean-looking weapons like the Bardiche.

And Sir Saladin, Frank Frazetta's art is good, and quite portrait worthy.
