Knight
I was lookin for a new weapon around the shops, but wasn't finding just what I was lookin for, so, I've added 34 new swords to the game. They are all based on the Next Generation line from Albion Armourers. I'll be adding more weapons of other kinds little by little, but this has me really burnt out.

Download Note: This is the full version, has all the new weapons and troops now carry them, enjoy.

Theres a new map I've stuck in with the mod (Pic below), if you don't like it, copy the map.txt and parties.txt from your Native folder and you'll have the vanilla map again.

They all do the same damage as their original M&B types, the only difference is the way they look, so you have 34 different variations of swords, one handed, two handed, bastard swords, Viking swords. There are a few more I can add later, but this is all for now. All of the existing troops are now armed with the new swords.

The Last Days Patch

Just extract this to your Last Days folder to add new weapons (Remember to rest at a tavern for one game day to get the new swords).

Hmm, i shall have to take a look at this, would you be at all willing to allow some of the models in my darkmod?

I don't particularly like falchions but I love the new berserker blade. I know it's the same as the falchion and only the looks have changed. But I'll take the berserker beter anyway. Even the river pirates look more dangerous with them. I like it, good work RR_raptor65

Screenshots from anyone? I can't download this until later to get a look at it.

I -LOVE- Albion's swords and I've been pushing for someone to do some new swords for awhile (particularly the Squire and Sovereign, which are my favourites).

You really did do an excellant job, My friend has a baron and your model looks just like it, I will definately be using many of these in dark mod. The weapons by themselves almost got me hooked on the vanilla M&B again!

Keep up the good work!

These swords are really great, but a bit high poly, not? What's the avarage polycount on 'em? Well, I was planning on doing a sword pack like that for the HYW, but I see you already made one, and a fine one too.
good job.

Wow. Realy great swords! I absolutely love them, especialy the two handed swords. I have a suggestion for them, however. Most of the two-handed swords look more like hand and a half, or bastard swords. It would be better, I think, if you changed these to one or two handed use. Regardless, spectacular weapons. I just can't get over how cool they are.

If he based them on the Albion swords then it's obvious why some of the two-handers look kind of small... because real two-hand swords look like that.

Downloaded it... and these are amazing. The Squire, Prince, and Sovereign have been my favourite swords since they were just drawings on the Albion site and it's wonderful to see them in the game. Really gorgeous work.

I hope AW throws most (or all!) of these into his Lord of the Rings mod.. which would just make my day.

Speaking of which, IS there a way to get these into the LotR mod without doing anything severe? I'm totally computer illiterate.. but I want my Gondorian Knight to be swinging around a Squire or Prince!

Thanks for the great weapons pack. Truly awesome.

(These need to be added to the Hundred Years War mod too, that would look great!)

All that ego-stroking aside.. I did notice that some of the weapons (particularly the viking swords) are too big.. and could do with being sized down just a notch. The Vinland and Clontarf, for example, are, in real life, just a tad smaller than the Squire.

Damn fine weapons. Now, what would be nice is if they were added, rather than replacing new weapons, to provide even more variability. I mean, if you want to use a two-handed sword, there is no reason not to use a SoW (unless you want the bastard sword...). Basically, it would drastically increase the customization of troops to find the exact sword you like. Would love these in the HYW mod, the Last Days, and the Northern. (yes, i play all three)

Now, what would be nice is if they were added, rather than replacing new weapons, to provide even more variability.

What do you mean by this?

The expansion does -add- rather than replace.. when you go to the weapon smith, the new swords are all along the top of his inventory, and the old stuff is where it usually was, toward the bottom of the inventory.

Great stuff! I'll give you Yoshiboys firstborn child if you patch these into Last Days and/or HYW.

I have a Last Days patch, but I haven't downloaded HYW yet.

Merentha: They are added, like Damien said. Unless your talking about the troops, because they don't have the original swords anymore, just the new ones.

Damien: I did model them by the scale pictures on the Albion site, and then used a rather, odd, but accurate method of rescaling them down to the correct size. As it is, I'm not sure ~6" is enough to warrent me having to rescale and reimport the Viking swords back in.

Oooh.. a Last Days patch... awesome.

And yeah, I wouldn't have thought the very minor issue of a few swords being a bit too big was something to fuss over. It was just worth mentioning in case you ever go back and play around with that stuff.

Again.. thanks for the weapons. Really made my week, especially with a Last Days patch!

Edit:

Can't get the Last Days patch to work. Whenever I try to open Last Days now I get an error ~ get_material failed for: swordtex1
