Weapon Durability and Crossbow Whacking

Two ideas I just thought up were weapon durability (wooden staffs 250, lances 400, axes 650, swords 750+) where a weapon can only take so much before being destroyed and crossbow whacking where you can hit people with a crossbow when you run out of bolts. Negative modifyers on weapons such as bent, cracked, rusty etc. will affect durability.

It's a good suggestion, but alot of people will be pissed once their watered-steel scimitar smashes apart. Seriously, I usually only see ONE of those every game.

Alternate forms of attack have indeed been suggested, many times. I would prefer a more utilitarian attack, one that is not so dependant on one weapon, i.e. a kick or shield bash.
