Weapon and armor repair

Regular
Most of the armors obtained from the enemy after the battle are damaged. It is recommended to add weapons and armor repairs in the smithy to repair some high-level armors and weapons

I hope they add armor crafting in soon. I always want a system like Skyrim in which you can repair and enhance your weapons and armor.

yes. I have always thought that repair should be possible. It's a basic thing really.

I also hope to be able to make armor, but this is difficult to achieve because the armor model needs to be divided into multiple parts

I hope they never ever implement armor or bow/crossbow crafting, the smithing mechanic for melee weapons is annoying enough. Thank to the gods that you can at least easily mod armor and ranged weapons without dealing with the crap damage formula from crafted weapons.

Repairing armor on the other hand I could accept. But I don't mind if they stay away from it.

Isn't there some glitch to make them turn into normal items? I think there is.....
Before the e1.5.5 version, there was a bug. Just press P, then transfer troops, then click reset and finally click cancel to repair all damaged items. Now this bug is fixed. So I hope to repair high-level armor in the smithy now

Repair would add some use to smithing. Right now, it's a bit of a weird trait. It has no use outside of crafting a couple of weapons for yourself and the companions (I consider the massive item prices to be a bug, rather than a feature), more limited by the RNG of parts than anything else.

Emphasis mine. This is spot on. Smithing has absolutely no use outside of crafting some novelty weapons for yourself and companions. It does not add value to the other parts of the game.

It turns worthless weaponry into goods to sell like iron, steel, hardwood. Try to compare selling a wooden hammer to smelt it for 1 coal and sell the three hardwood at a city with a wood workshop. Try selling a rusty falchion and compare the price with the iron you get out of dismantling it. Believe me, the skill is a boon in early game and somewhat entertaining later. And the skill tree offers stuff like one free point of control/endurance - your choice.
Stamina recovery is a nuisance.

Nope. That's as good as using the cheat to get gold. Besides, gold is fairly useless in and of itself. I have no issue getting gold the old fashioned way.

I'd really like weapon and armour degradation to be a thing, especially armour as you end up simply using the highest rated armour you've found rather than what is available. If I have a nice helmet I won in a tourney (which are far too easy but nevermind for now) and I go down in battle to a head wound, there should be a chance it's smashed and effectively removed. Oh dear now I have to wear a slightly poorer helmet I found. I'll be more careful next time! Maybe I'll weigh up the pros and cons of taking it to this battle in the first place and save it for a more important fight... but the other helmet I have isn't as good... risk/reward!

I also think it is duable to get armour obtained from looting, repaired by the player and ,why not, upgrade it to modified. This would be real fun. But the best would be to have also visual improvement as you make it better. Like bronge, iron, steel, decorated with silver, gold, juels.. for helmet or other equipment.. And for more one could add feather , horse tails, horns ecc..

going to bring a whole new dynamic to breaking the economy somehow.

Wouldbe great though of course.
But i think if they are repairable, they should be breakable too (to be fair)

People didn't seem to like that idea.

Maybe in a sense that it gets prefix like bent, chipped etc. after a while not in the sense we get some massively annoying durability bar. And of course the option to return it to original state with appropriate smithing skill or paying a smith to do it for you.

Otherwise they should leave it as it is. Playing games since 1997 I can't remember repair mechanic ever doing anything but being a chore. Minor inconvenience at best or completely sucking the fun out of the game at worst.

Definitely agree, but lets say you get knocked from a massive 200+ damage blow on horseback, i think armor 'could' crack. It could be a good mechanic to have random chances when using stuff. But i agree. There are enough chores in this game..

If they did it like the mods are doing i would be happy, leave the detailed crafting for blades and polearms as is and add a simple crafting for the other categories, no need to customize every detail of the piece, just select for example "imperial lamellar" and maybe add a modifier that would increase requirements, thinks like balanced, fine, lordly etc that warband had.

This with a durability system as a gold sink would be awesome
