Weak mercenary units in taverns

Now l don't know if it's just me or it's a feature, but the mercenary units available for recruiting from taverns are so weak. l saw only thugs and master thug, trade weapon archer or something like that dunno what's that. The strongest unit l discovered was after last patch (dunno if it's related or not) was hired blade.

What l'm trying to say here is that in Warband you where able to recruit decent mercenary units, while in Bannerlord they suck and are weak.

Havent paid to much attention to mercenaries in taverns tbh. But the few times that I did.... Earlier builds did seem to have higher quality mercs.

Later in game when you had some money it was a good thing to recruit medium tier troups. Right now kinda sucks having a kindome, beeing at war and you have to recruit low tier troups when your facing med tier and high tier enemy troups.

Yeah I was doing a sellsword play through. Just bouncing from faction to faction trying to keep relative map balance.

I had lots of gold, but lacked me (as the Army Battle AI takes over my men and gets them slaughtered) so I tried finding Mercenaries in taverns to replenish, and well, groups of 1-5 mid tier units weren't cutting it.

What happened to the 10-20 "Elite" mercenary units that often showed up in warband. Sure they cost a lot, but they were worth it relative to the price (and the stupid amounts of gold I make in bannerlord).

well right now you can hire merc companies to fight for you, i would say that is even better.
i do agree that there are very few low lvl troops available for hire in the taverns. but to counter that you can hire high level troop in villages now

Armed traders are fairly decent archers for their price, the problem is those damn thugs, even the expert one sucks.

You can hire them if you're in good relations with village leaders
l.e Hmmm... mercenary companies, I've tried to hire them but i can't, if you know how to, please tell me how.
