We shouldn't have to pay [Influence] to vote for who gets a fief. but we should have to pay influence when asking others to change their mind.

keep in mind that if we do NOT vote, we lose relationship with all the clans that we couldn't voted for.
And if we do vote, we lose lots of influence ( 50 minimum )
so basically after every victorious siege, the player has to lose relationship and/or influence
the logic is a bit flawed imo.
 
You actually receive a net gain of relationship from voting. From spending 300 you gain, I believe, 80 relations while only losing 20 x 2 from the other two vassals. Net gain of 40 relations. So if you prioritize your voting you can have 60+ relations with many in your faction very quickly.

Also, voting is the best way to gain charm IMO.

Realistically, voting shouldn't cost influence.
You're not making someone do something for you. you're just showing your opinion.

And for early game 50 influence is too much
The only influence I get is 1-4 from battles.
I'd rather not spend my influence on charm skill/relationships atm
