We need a MESSENGER SERVICE.

Seriously...

I just spent 2 hours wandering the world and trying to get my kid hitched. I finally gave up on a good match and took some talentless kid with no personality. During the search my vassals tried to declare war on every single faction we share a border with (which is everyone but Vlandia) and war was declared against me on 4 different occasions. I ran through 10,000 influence and lord knows how much in bribes keeping things quiet. I only let my companions have parties of their own if I can keep them in my army, under my direct supervision. I have completely abandoned caravans. I almost never hire a mercenary faction.

That is a list of instances where my gameplay choices were dictated by either the need to spend a bunch of real life time wandering around Calradia searching for people or by my my aversion to doing so. It sucks. I want to do more than just beat up nobles and take their stuff, but everything else is just such a pain in the ass...

We NEED a system for DELIVERING MESSAGES.

Imagine if I could just head to the Imperial Post (as a peon) or dictate messages to my secretary (as a noble or faction leader). It would be glorious...

Good morning, Jones. Please send forth the following messages:
  • To Aethelred the Unwary, start a new caravan and don't skimp on security.
  • To Kumaru the Bold, recruit a party and meet me in Amprela as soon as you are able.
  • To Conrad the Hawk, recruit a party and patrol around Syronea.
  • To Luichan fen Penraic, my grandson is looking for a bride and I think your grandaughter Swyneth is a good match. Thoughts?
That will be it for now. Since I have so much free time I'm off to make war on all of my neighbors simultaneously. Huzzah!

TW, can we have something like that?

Yep. Even if it was just sending a companion to deliver a message. It's just silly having to search the world for and chase down someone just for a quick convo.

Yes they should add something for this. In general I think TW devs need to have seminar on the concept of campaign time with the games mechanics. You can't just have so many things take up so much campaign time with so little pay off and expect players to do them. Of course the AI cheats for all these things. They can even get married and hire mercs while a prisoner. There's no reason not to give something to the player when the whole game depends on the AI having these instant, remote exchanges.

Oh we can defeat 7 enemy armies, or wait a day and try to get pregnant, or deliver the cows to the village, hmmmmm hmmmmm what to do, these are so balanced and thought out.

In Warband it was much easier to find people because when running your own kingdom, you had a Kingdom Court, and nobles would visit it if they wanted to defect to you. That took a lot of the irritating running around out of the game.

In addition, Feasts brought lords and ladies together on a fairly regular basis, making it easy to talk to almost every noble in the kingdom in one room, and if there wasn't one currently running you could also host one yourself!

They definitely need to make it easier to contact people, and allow kingdom rulers to DELEGATE. When the player is running their own kingdom, every Lord's Hall they control should have a Minister NPC, who you can talk to in order to send messages to allied and foreign nobles about marriage/defection, find out about whether any quests need doing in the realm, and send companions to resolve them if so.

And Feasts should make a return too because they have other benefits in addition to making it easier to contact people; and the encyclopedia should tell you where lords are currently heading rather than where they were last seen. With these three things, it would never be a hassle to find people again.

Feasts can only work if there are periods of peace between conflicts. Instead of the constants wars that the mid and late game degenerates too.

Yes some kind of message system is needed.

My preference would be to summon Nobles to a particular Town/Castle for a meeting (probably have to pay denars). Though not sure how well that would work. Though such a feature is desperately needed for Companions/Clan Members at least (that should be free though)

Yep, a lot of Quests in particular are totally bogus. Lucky if half of them even cover your troop expenses as you do them. And the relation gains aren't even that good either.

Tracking down Lords is extremely frustrating as they either teleport random places or are constantly on the move with no clear indication of what they're doing. Warband was much better in this regard. Ladies would stay put in their fiefs and you were able to get a good idea where Lords were at by asking them. More importantly they told you what they were doing (traveling to, etc.) Not just "last seen at" nonsense.

I bet tens of thousands of players quit just due to how frustrating it was/is to track down Nobles to talk to for Main Quest. Oh well at least we got special markers now LOL.

I like the idea of having feasts! the messenger feature would be great even if it was just to deliver messages to other lords in the game.
Looks like the Devs right now are focused on war mechanics lets hope the more peacetime features also will be added later.

I wish there was an option to forbid my clan parties from joining armies started by other nobles. I take all this time to grow party leaders with large party size limits and useful perks but every time I want to form an army for free they're in someone else's so I have to force disband the army and take a relationship hit with everyone.
