I'm sorry, the phone link to Ankara has shut down for the night; I'll try next week though
Now I know you're lying because Armagan is in Germany right now.

Thought you could pull a fast one on me?

I think it makes no difference, CD key or not, that its almost the same as "other" category under CPU / GPU. The effort to go to find the site, to enter info and apply is enough player filtration for the open beta, its not like seeing "beta" on steam or origin and clicking "download".
On the other hand, you could always apply with another email. If you think you screwed up.

Yeah, i saw 1 hour long Rammy gameplay, before they asked him (through chat) to shut down twitch, at least untill they announce beta themselves. He said he got a card (must be this kind). I dont know if they are now handing only physical cards to expand the beta, or are they going to consider those applications. Either way, i would like to play multiplayer, although singleplayer is mah jam.

Edit: Interestingly im better at multiplayer (always finnishing in top 5 on 200server),and in SP i never could attain a kingdom and win over whole Calradia (without cheats).....hmmm

Oh,erm...well you see the thing is, the phone cables go via Turkey from Britain, before coming back to Germany. So that's why I can't speak to him again.

So basically if I would've spent my life savings to go to Germany I could have access to closed beta guaranteed? Idk feelsbadman that random goobers are getting these keys while fans still wait, but I guess all will be forgiven if the forms are reviewed and access is given soon.

Yeah, giving out beta invites to random people on the showfloor doesn't seem like the best way to get reliable feedback.
Hopefully they're using this more as a tool for publicity than for actually beta testing the game. They made us fill that form for a reason.
At this point I'm just ****ing praying for that E-mail telling me I'm invited.

The form hardly even asked for much info. "Have you beta tested before?" I mean is anybody gonna answer 'no'? Most people have in some form and those who haven't can just as easily lie for hopes of a better chance.

You're right, publicity is the only explanation. Still there are better ways they could've done it. I don't mean to sound entitled to play but it's hard not to feel shafted.

I'll pray with you. Pretty excited to see Armagan on this Livestream soon.

I filled the form with only true data. Let's hope honesty pays, at least here.

Is there any news on expanding multyplayer beta into an open beta?
Quite possibly in the future, but for now, if you are interested in playing, you should go to beta.taleworlds.com and fill out the application form.

Lets all be brothers here and let each everyone in this topic know if they recieved anything from Taleworlds about the beta application, an answer, key anything, just so we know if and when they started taking them into consideration.

I applied as well, left out my keys, but also put that I prefer single player over MP, but I also thoroughly enjoy MP. *Watches as my Beta MP invitation gets tossed in the trash*

If I was creating a beta questionnaire I would be using it to try and get a good cross section of the potential player bases for the game. Trying to judge how accessible it is to new players will be just as important as opinions of veterans.
I can actually see an argument for gaming it by choosing unpopular options

But I believe taleworlds did say they want to invite core community members first so what do I know

Yeah I agree with this completely. But then again I don't know whether or not it's because I'm being envious and spiteful, or if it is legitimately a poor choice from TaleWorlds.

There's only so much noob/new_player feedback you can get before it's not telling you anything, though. Having dozens of people saying "wow class X is OP", when it absolutely isn't, definitely isn't helpful. Despite my obvious bias, as they hand out more keys they really should be giving it to more experienced/dedicated players, for both balancing and bugfixing reasons.

Even if it isn't OP It does tell you that not enough instruction is given to new players on how to counter/deal with that class. Sort that pre release and you won't get as many people storming onto the forums complaining about such and such being OP once the game is released. Balancing the game based purely on people who already know what they're doing is a bad idea because that's not going to be the makeup of the real game.

I vaguely remember an interview on this subject with a dev for some game a while ago. He talked about it seemed obvious to the people who tried it internally how you were meant to pick up some item to deal with a boss yet when they tested it on players a huge number missed it and got frustrated which they hadn't foreseen.

Another example I've got for multiplayer is overwatch and reaper. In high ranked competitive gameplay it was continuously getting headshotted and taken out and just never picked while in low ranks it tended to dominate new players who couldn't deal with it. Every time they tried to balance it for high level it unbalanced low level where the majority of players are. Really it was just a poorly designed class.

Point is, just because veterans like me and you can deal with something easily doesnt mean there's no problem, you got to test these things.

Well I agree that there should be some newer players. But how many newer players are needed to tell you that mechanic x isn't balanced for newer players (or whatever)? As a general rule, the ability to test game mechanics and weed out bugs is going to be greater from more experienced players on average.

As for the metagames surrounding different sections of the community; yeah I understand. But I don't really see how this could be prevented without operating parallel version builds. In Dota 2, in low ranking games, Sniper is generally considered OP, but is otherwise considered underpowered and almost never picked at higher level play. A buff or a nerf would completely break one region (to either always picked or never picked). I don't see how this can ever be prevented, anyway.

But who can decide who is a noob player, who is veteran? Someone may have bought the game 2009, played it for a year and never touched it again, some others may have played from 2015 until now non-stop, while some may have played from day 1 until now,non-stop, but mostly single player.

Who is a veteran there and deserved multiplayer beta before another?

Its a silly way of looking at this things, they are mostly controled chaos, nothing more.

Well I never said anything about anyone "deserving" anything. Only that it's in TaleWorld's best interests going into the Beta, to get better players to test their games. I also agree that it's difficult to determine who is actually a high level player, especially in regions where the people who participate in tournaments aren't known outside of their little scene. But TaleWorlds' aims should be to soak up those experienced players, regardless of the mechanisms or the accuracy of those mechanisms to get what they are looking for.
