MOSS ANTI-CHEAT

          • MOSS has been created in 2010 by Nohope92 to assist free games development in the ESL.
• MOSS helps online competition leagues to control their players fair play and identity.

Warband Blitz League will be using MOSS anti-cheat to prevent people from secretly using third-party softwares that can help them to gain any kind of advantage over other players.

MORE INFORMATION:

Deacon Barry said:
The software needs to be started before players load up the game. Once the game has ended and the software stopped it makes a ZIP file. This zip file contains some information in a notepad and also importantly randomly taken screenshots from the time spent playing the game. If the ZIP file is tampered with then, when examined using the anti-cheat, it will show as corrupted. The software is extremely low intensity so should be able to be ran by everyone. There's a lot of information available so go read on the site if your interested in learning more. I believe the random screenshots will be extremely useful - no more excuses about screenshots. Step by step below:

Start MOSS with Warband selected as the game

Open Warband, play match

Closed Warband. End MOSS processing

Do not tamper with the ZIP folder created, this will result in corruption of file

Submit ZIP folder to admins
• In order to efficiently use the MOSS software, WBL administration will choose different samples (players/teams) to use MOSS while playing their official matches. - Different samples will be used every week. - This doesn't apply to players previously suspected or accused of cheating. These players will be asked to use MOSS software individually throughout the whole timeline of the tournament. •

4.) If a player/team doesn't accept the use of MOSS software for any kind of reason, he won't be eligible to participate in the tournament.

I’m with Ciiges, the competative scene has been going on for a long time and i dont see the reaon for a sudden change when bannerlord is “coming soon”on steam store anyways. Especially the fact when it screeshots anything on the screen which endangers the privacy of my team.

The MOSS will most likely be used in next major either way.
The Moss is a system to prove you are not using any form of third-party softwar, but like Moss recording the entire match will suffice just as well. I will not be using Moss, I will keep recording.

This is my opinion on the matter:

Can there not be any alternation?
For example: I record my officials, which counts as enough proof that I'm not hacking.
If people can't record their officials for whatever reason, they should use this program as it's kind of a last resort use in my opinion. I don't feel completely comfortable using a program over which I don't have any controll and possibly leaking personal info or anything I don't want shared.

We could also enforce this upon questional cases only (e.g. Maximou, Kazupa, Red_WaR, RD, ANuBiS, Quake, ETC.). These specific players have all been accused of using some sort of client before by multiple skilled and experienced players, but even them we could give them the option to either record their officials or use this software if they are incapable of recording.

I enjoy the idea of an anti-cheat, but most players are not using any form of hacks, so in most cases it'll be an uncomfortable add to their current gaming experience.

Most players won't be asked to use MOSS

EDIT: I still do not really understand everyone's privacy issues. The only thing that can be harmful is an unlucky screenshot of some chat (which can be easily avoided, you just have to close any chats you have during the match), nothing else is going to hurt you or anyone else.

Does leaking information about your Hardware (unique PC identifier) and Process list hurt you personally?

Your rules state random teams will be asked, will you ask FT? and if you do, which players will have to use it?

Me and Habi spoke about it and we was thinking that it is a good idea. But where it is showing your desktop and anything when you are not in-game is just prone to being abused and is no ones business but your own.
I believe this is a really good thing for the community, but it should be used in a different way i.e only used in extreme cases of the cheaters in question having to use this for a substitute for recording if they have a potato PC.

Everyone's personal information i.e Facebook, Emails etc... is their own PERSONAL information and should not be shared with others unless you are being forced to use this due to as I said having a potato PC.

However it should be a very useful tool to battle against the influx of cheaters we have all been seeing in the past weeks and months if it is used correctly.

I think we will only use this if we are 'forced', I am sure many people will agree with us.

Is closing the FB while a person plays a match impossible?

No, it isn't.

BUT why should I run this program if I'm not even a cheating suspect? I will not use this as there is no need for it, I've proven I don't use software and will continue to do so by RECORDING my official matches.

HOWEVER: I think this is a very good solution for suspected cheaters who are unable to record their entire officials, in which case it should be used ONLY BY THEM.

Then? What's the problem? If you are chosen as a sample, what possible issue could you have with using it for one match? No personal information will be logged if you close everything that shows itself on the screen and contains something you don't want us to know. As Gibby said, the outrage about this is unjustified and exaggerated.

BECAUSE IT'S NOT NEEDED, I've got another way to show I'm not cheating, so why should I use this method?

As I said many times, which apperantly is being ignored: Why don't we only enforce it upon questionable cases who cannot record their matches? This way not a lot of people have to use it, and most will agree to it being used in tournaments, as long as it's only for questionable cases.

Pretty sure the outrage is justified. Here, I'll tell you why.

1) It can record anything, the moment you tab out to go on facebook when you're on bench, it will show.
2) It's not secure, information can easily be leaked as there's no one who actually knows how to keep the files safe.
3) I'll run this program throughout the tournament then turn it off, never use it again, turn on my hacks and now since I'm 'never a suspect' I'll turn it back on, even if it's random picks, you can do the same thing.

Don't think you've been reading the posts here.

I'm quite satisfied by the means of this being used for particular players who are questionable and can't prove their innoncence otherwise (recordings).

And it does also screenshot your second screen.

If you are unable to stay in-game for 1 hour straight, without going to desktop or using steam overlay, the problem will be somewhere in between the table and chair and not in the program.

Well, no one thought about Anubis being a potentional cheater until it actually happened? The thing is, we do not really know who is a possible cheater and who isn't, not even recording will show, if you use wallhack or not. Yes, I agree, one match with MOSS enable can be simply ignored, who cares? But if teams are in KOs, we could force them to use this to make sure NO ONE cheats during the matches there.

If there's someone satisfied with cheating on IG, then be it, but with enforcing this, no one will ever cheat in tourneys again.
