Sahran, Outlawed and Thrak....
I love you guys for putting your precious time and effort in the development of this mod.
May God be with you and you finish it quickly.
and I will always be here for moral support (as long as I have internet that is haha..)

Edit:AL_Mansur too

Outlawed, here some pictures of my models.
A French 12/13th century castle:

mb2-1.jpg
Except the two big keeps, it can be used in the mod.

11th century Moorish castle (based on Khayran's walls):

Need another texture, although this one doesn't look too much unrealistic when you know Moorish architecture. Anyway, I intend to remake the whole models of this castle.

Dutch castle:

Only the square corner in the background is accurate for 1148.

13th century Almohad style tower:

Late 12th/early 13th century Almohad walls:

Constantinople walls:

I can also make weapons and armors. For example, 13th century Andalusian helmets:

7803261185841_moor.jpg

An Andalusian 13th century sword:

A simple Norman helmet:

Unfortunately, most of these models aren't accurate for the mod's period.

Indeed. That is some awesome stuff!
Thanks for that!
I'll send you and Thrak pms with my steam so we can talk about this easily..

Also @ Nomi don't forget the rest of the team haha xd but thanks for the support!

Sahran, great stuff. I'm liking it. I'm liking it, ALOT.

Actually I play guitar a bit as a hobby myself too. If you'd send me your current recordings, I'd check them out and maybe give some advice or something about them.

England's banners
I made a bit of reserach about England and I found 5 banners to fit for England and/or it's lords/king.

Thanks for the participation.
However, Henry II herald and banners had two horizontal lions. The 3 lions were only really introduced with Richard.

But I already said that Richard would fit much better to the role of the king of England. Since the time era spans around Crusades anyway.

Lol.

First of all, there is a very big difference between the Second and the Third Crusades. The people involved, let alone the equipment, the heralds, the architecture...etc You cannot just say, 'the time era spans around Crusades anyway'. The fourth Crusade ended up contradicting the main purpose of the first one for example.

Things change A LOT over the course of some 30-40 years in Outremer.

Also, why would I want to twist my time frame, alter the realism I have going for the mod(notice the emphasis on realism here lol) just for one character?

Richard came after the mod. It doesn't matter how 'good' of a king he was/wasn't.

Yeah, I know all about the Crusades and I must say that I personally despise them and the Crusaders.
Now here's a small problem, according to the time era of the mod, 1131-1147, England had 3 kings, if I am right. Stephen, Henry I and Henry II.

@King of Scotland you even read the thread name? 1148 AD

So who cares if England was ruled in the 19th century by Queen Victoria or any other? I don't see how it can be relevant to this topic.

Henry the first died in 1135. So he's completely out of the question.
Stephen assumed the throne and held it without any real hindrance up until 1139 when Matilda had arrived.
The first confrontation between Henry II and Stephen was in 1147. One year before our mod where Henry II's invasion resulted in failure.

In 1148 Stephen had as much control as any other ruler of a European 'country' would. It was until 1153/54 when Henry II actually took control.

I don't want to get into this now though because England's research about lords will come in due time.

Aha, right, now I understand. I thought the mod starts from like 17 years earlier than 1148 A.D

lol @ the votes we got for Antioch.

Equal votes. I guess the crescent would be something that you wouldn't expect on a Crusader state's banner. Maybe on their coinage and seals, but not banner.

I'll go with a plain cross =p

Here's the options for nomenclature. Civis can be used in lieu of militia, because being a citizen (and generally someone with a stock in the town - not a bum or a poor person) required military service.

Primi Civis = "First of the citizens"
Secundi Civis = "Second of the citizens"

Civis Minores = "Lesser/junior citizens"
Civis Majores = "Greater/senior citizens"

Civis Inferioris = "Lesser/junior citizens"
Civis Superioris = "Greater/older citizens"

Iunior Civis = "Junior/younger citizens"
Senior Civis = "Older/senior citizens" [had no idea senior was directly latin!]

I like Minores/Majores, although we might already be using that for the Miles. It's a nice, recognizable term that sounds more exciting than saying in english "veteran" or "younger/older". The other option would be Inferioris and Superioris. I don't like Primi/Secundi, because it implies an organizational structure that didn't exist (a stratified society into first, second, third, ect.). These'll be for tier 2 and 3, with 4 probably being some sort of "noble citizens" (magni/magnus/whatever civis), and tier 1 being 'non citizens' - ruffians and such.

I also read something interesting that claims that crossbowmen were more rare than I first thought in the mid 12th century. I'll have to check out a book when I return to university this coming week to try and determine how prevalent crossbows were - we might have to go back and make them something limited to the top two (or top 1) unit in the ranged tree.

I also think I need to return to the Sicilians and make sure they and the North Italians mimic the Iberians for being 'four tiered", since being shorter in tiers gives an unfair advantage of quicker access to armored (Gambeson and then mail) troops.

Outlawed I'm also just curious - do you happen to have a seamless mail pattern? I might ask for it as a tithe for my researching!  I'm always on the lookout for a good seamless mail pattern to get, since I love to do nice and simple mail armor textures. I'm kidding about the tithe, I do this pro bono (teehee, pro boner), but if you do have a seamless mail pattern I'd love to get it!

This is absolutely too late. Frog helm are from the 15th century.
That's what I thought, too,  I posted them in here to get some info back.

I talked to Outlawed and I'm gonna try to get some info about England.
