Arite, I'm lazy and have concluded not to do **** until I get the Warband MS. By then I'll hardly even need any new armours and very few new weapons. I'm also going to add a few things for Warband, quite a few based specifically around the Sarranid faction.

First of all, I'mma make it so that if you go out and about in the desert for more than a day, your men will die. Easy counter for this is that you can have "waterskins" that take up only one inventory spot (no matter the size of your army, as it is assumed that every soldier carries his own water supply for a day) and it is automatically refilled whenever you visit a Sarranid settlement (might add "wells" on the map for this purpose as well), and the same goes for travelling over the ocean. Just make a quick stop on land and you'll be fine though.
The obvious flaw with this is that it's pretty easy to deal with. So assuming there is a fully functioning map editor (cba to check of Thorgrim's works or not) I might make the desert intercede between two spots, or use cleverly positioned mountains to make the desert trip much shorter, assuming you make it through. Don't think I'd do that with ocean though, because I'd have to fill up an annoyingly significant part of the map to do it. And I'll also slow down map travel speed enough that crossing the desert will actually take some time, so hoorah and etc for that.

And if you didn't get it from what I mentioned above, yeah, I'm putting some naval **** in. Chances are I won't do it so shoddily this time, and now I have all the "real" boats for each of the factions (which were actually made for Warband by the devs but were excluded from the final release) and instead of using my half-assed ship system I'll probably use Mirathei's, but just not be lazy and make proper boarding planks etc with an AI mesh and all that nonsense. Should work out alright, and even if it isn't I can't imagine it'll be used too often. Of course, I'll try and make it so that you travel loads faster while on a ship, giving you a reason to sail around in the first place. As some of you who played Roots of Yggdrassil may know, the ship system causes a bit of lag, but since this isn't intended for lower-end machines anyways what with all the new graphical stuff, then this shouldn't affect my target audience. (Or, more importantly, me!)

I have actually been thinking about something like the waterskins for my mod, but I haven't done anything to make that happen, yet, it sounds very good, I have to say. :smile:
 
I've got my ship system mostly working in Warband, since it'll be the easiest to port when the MS comes out. I'll probably release a teaser of it soonish with just the ship stuff if I can be arsed and can do it before easter break.

Overview of ship system:

-You can buy a ship from certain towns with ports and sail around (done)
-There are faction-owned ports that spawn factional ship parties (done) lord type characters (not implemented but easy to do) and caravans that travel oversea (not done but should be simple enough)
-fully working, relatively sizable and fully AI meshed ship battle scenes (only two at the moment as well as one randomly generated island type map which is functional but will most likely be redone) (done)
-New quest from faction leaders: take enemy port (not done)
-siegable ports (working, but no scenes yet aside from that MP map)

I'll get some screenshots of the ships I 'spose, soon as I get around to it.
